      I've felt mostly better today, though I slept through breakfast and lunch. I had dinner with my kids at a Chinese restaurant but it was too expensive, so I didn't eat anything (and neither would my 12 year old daughter lol because she didn't want to eat if I couldn't, bless her heart).

      Weight: Woohoo 79. Went up 1.
      Foods consumed today: Two fried eggs, 3x bacon, 2 toasts, Shapes, KFC meal, Fish and chips. (Ikr?)
      Drinks. Bottle pepsi, 2 coffees, 1 tea

      Am i gonna have to be the first one to post wierd posing progress pics?

      So all in all, not my best day...

      Today being my cheat day, I just did a few pull-ups and chin-ups. I can literally feel muscle building, though, which is great!

      Tomorrow and probably through Wednesday I'll be helping my neighbor re-roof his home and porch, so that'll probably make up most, if not all, of my exercising for those days. If that isn't enough, I'll wrestle with his 4-month-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Mastiff pup, who already weighs 60lbs. Awesome dog.

      Wow, twoshadows, you play world of warcraft???

      hmm anyway. I'm skinny as hell, I can eat and eat but never get fat.
      I smoke so my lung capacity is limited. I walk lots. My muscle isn't very much, i need to pack power in my punches.

      My goals are to condition and tone my muscles. in all areas. There's a local gym. I also want to condition my forearms Iron forear style. I got a friend here who can help me with that.

      No sure if I'll join this club or not. I don't even know what routine to set for myself...

      You should definitely join. Fitness is an excellent goal. If you have a gym and a friend to help, then you should have no problem getting something going. And any routine is better than no routine. Come on...please.....

      No Twoshadows, I don't play world of warcraft. I was just suprised to find out you're a bit of a nerd :-)

      so ok:

      Cheat Day (Optional): depends no the day
      Physical Goals: To increase lung capacity so i can mvoe through the Kung fu form I'm learning without tiring and gasping. to build and tone muscles. and gain wieght.
      Days you'll exercise: Saturday, Sunday, Wednseday and Thursday
      Cardio Routine: going through sections of the Tiger and crane form. pick 2 sections and repeat 3 times at full speed and then 2 times at slow speed. The form is supposed to develop lung capacity, because it is long and also tones muscles for power and strangth. when spring hits, run around the block each morning before coffee and breakfast.
      Weight Routine: I'm not sure what is meant by weight training. do you mean trraining with weights? well for now i can do push ups. I have a variety of pushups to do. 5 pushups for forearms, 5 for tiger claw finger strength. 5 four finger pushups (using two fingers on each hand.) i'll try to increase the pushups by one or two pushups each day. 10 minutes of iron forearm training. I will add more as i go along.

      Why are you joining? Because i've wanted to improve my body for a while now and I always put it off. I thought this would be a fun way to start.

      You're familiar with Karate, so may I ask you a question?
      I used to practice Kempo and even back then, punching hurts my elbows. When I punch I hear them pop and feel them grind. What am I doing wrong? I do have hypermobility, so it may not be something I can get around. Any suggestions?

      Well it's Kung fu. But i've always wanted to study kenpo. For the pops and cracks.. I think it's normal and nothing to worry about. My arms would pop and crack whenever i do the dynamic tension thrusts ( where i have my index finger pointed up). Remember the bruce lee movie when he flexes his whole body and you hear a bunch of pops. You might want to find a martial arts instructor and ask him about it. I'm not really qualified to give advice in the matter.

      I've been an instructor for a few years. If your elbow hurts then you are either not rolling your arm over the right way, or extending them too far and too hard when doing them in the air.

      When throwing a punch your arm should never fully straighten, it puts a massive amount of energy into your elbow, which can damage it.

      Incline barbell bench press, bench press, Cable tricep pushdown, peck deck

      Areas of body worked today: Legs, and now I am stiff as a boot. I'm pushing the body real hard now, only working out three-four days a week now to give muscle time to recover/grow.
      Current weight: 194lbs (Goal to reach 205 lbs) <- I am considering of lowering goal to 200 lbs instead. I want to get into high intensity cardio soon like P90X or something.
      Current buddy: N/A
      Foods consumed today: Protein. Up to Six meals a day.
      Low Fat, high protein diet.

      That explains it then... sort of. Thanks.
      My former instructor had us punch as hard as possible, fully extending and straightening our arm. How do I keep a punch powerful without straightening it?
