I've noticed that my heart will occasionally skip a beat every now and then, and it's most noticible when I'm trying to fall asleep. Normally when I'm falling asleep I try to calm down, slow down my breathing and my heart beat a little bit. It happens sometimes too if I'm just sitting in class or not really doing anything. It doesn't have any long lasting effects, just a slight discomfort for a split second and then it's gone.

On the beat after the skipped one my heart beats a little bit harder, to make up for the loss of bloodflow, I think. I thought this could've had something to do with my diet, but it's not really that bad. As far as food goes I enjoy red meat and often eat burgers and such, but I also eat occasional salads and enjoy some good broccoli/spinach. On a scale of one to ten i would say that my diet is about a 5 or 6. I thought caffeine may have something to do with it, but I only really drink cream soda which is caffeine free, and i don't drink a ton of it. Maybe a 2 liter bottle over several days.

I searched google for a bit for anything similar to this but found nothing. There were some cases in which the heart skipped 3-4 beats, which is very extreme and did not fit me at all. There was some people saying it was nothing and others saying it was bad and I should see my doctor. It doesn't have any noticible physical effects, but it scares the hell out of me whenever it happens (it's like im going to die! ).

If anybody has experienced this or knows what it is I would greatly appreciate it. Anything that could solve it would be great, but just an acknowledgement that it isn't detrimental to my health or physical well being would be great too.
