Marijuana Cuts Lung Cancer Tumor Growth In Half, Study Shows

ScienceDaily (Apr. 17, 2007) — The active ingredient in marijuana cuts tumor growth in common lung cancer in half and significantly reduces the ability of the cancer to spread, say researchers at Harvard University who tested the chemical in both lab and mouse studies.

Presumably this effect is nullified if you smoke it

Seems like if the way to prevent a small fire from becoming a big fire had something to do with tha small fire, instead of simply preventing the fire in the first place.

Anyway, there has been no reported deaths of anyone dying from cannabis whether they smoked it or not.

Though smoking is hard on your respiratory system, there is no evidence that smoking cannabis causes any type of cancer.

And of course, you can eat it, drink it, or vaporize it.

Smoking cigarettes causes cancer. You can't really blame that on particulate matter when cigarettes contain the number of carcinogens they do. In terms of lung health impact you really can't compare cigarettes and cannabis.

Either way, if you're not a fan of smoking, you just vaporize it. Still just as direct an application of the THC to the affected area as smoking.

It's my understanding that smoking marijuana has never actually been convincingly linked to lung cancer.

But no James, it is not 'literally the cure for cancer', don't be ridiculous. Plant extracts are use all the time to cure ailments (do you know what aspirin is?), if it were true then there would be scientific evidence and somebody would be out there making a killing from this gigantic gap in the market.

Well if you had the cure to cancer, I imagine it would be fairly easy to profit off of.

Except with cannabis. It's a plant you can grow in your house. How can a company profit off a medicine individuals can produce on their own?

You cannot put a patent on a plant.

You could grow penicillium in your house if you wanted to, how come companies are still selling penicillin?

It can also be applied topically for skin conditions such as moles, warts, tumors, and diabetic lesions.

Hemp is in mass industrialization in most Europe, and we certainly have biotech. Stop thinking that America is the only country in the world capable of developing technology.
