I am pretty sure they would still make a profit from it. Since they would be the first one selling it, people are going to buy it from them before anyone else. Even if other companies copy them, they probably wont be able to produce it on the spot. So for the first four months or so you blitz the market with a cure for cancer, and pull in the money quickly. If it actually cured the three types of cancer they would profit. Also, if they found the chemical didn't work but that chemical mixed with another did, then the laws would protect them.

The issue is that it would take 100 million dollars to get it through the testing and approval. If anyone shells out that money, then immediately afterward, anyone can profit from their investment, and they will likely never recoup the cost. It would take someone who just wants to cure cancer and doesn't care about making money or even making their money back who also has 100 million dollars to spare. People who have that kind of money don't tend to give fuck all about their fellow man, and probably isn't too worried about curing cancer.

It sounds like they basically just going to let someone else do the research for them. Once it goes through all the research the companies may start making it, since it would probably make them profit even if its 'generic'. The real issue here, isn't that no one wants to pay for research. Its that government regulations are such a pain, that it keeps people from testing new drugs, and only allows billion dollar companies to do it. If you fix the government regulation, so it doesn't cost a stupid amount of money to test, then maybe more people would be willing to pay up.

I expect nothing less I have no doubt that those in power care only for how much overhead they make from the cattle citizens of this country. Their not going to fund this, it makes no sense for them to. They don't care about your children, parents, siblings, grandparents, or friends. They don't care about YOU. They couldn't care less if you contracted every disease known to man and this would give you one more day by eliminating one of them.... Those who can fund it will not because they only care about the profit to be made, and there is none here, non in a monetary sense... but there is in a human sense... So it's left in the common man's hands to see this through, or to see it fall under the foot of the corporations and pharmaceutical companies feet and be crushed.

I don't think it's up to the pharmaceutical giants to fund this. Unless they have some sort of philanthropic wing, it's not their job to cure people, they're there to make $$$. I think it's up to the government, charities and universities to pick up the slack. These guys actually have a mandate to keep people healthy. Besides, I doubt many people would complain if their taxes went towards curing cancer, surely it's a better cause than war...

There is a simple solution. Keep yourself pure. Balanced diet of alkaline (not acid). Asparagus is a great anti cancer food. Drink plenty of pure water (not tap). Forget about philanthropists stepping up to the plate for you. Step up to the plate and take responsibility for your own life and well being.

That's simple alright, but it's not a solution. Asparagus and filtered water will not prevent, treat, or cure cancer. Sorry. On a more positive note, asparagus is a completely delicious food which people should eat anyway... I recommend it roasted with some light olive oil and a bit of garlic salt

I think he was suggesting that it was one way to help prevent cancer. Obviously if most people were adopting lifestyle changes that would drastically lower the cancer rates among the population, then their would be less incentive to withhold a cure.

I am aware of the health benefits of various fruits and vegetables as they relate to cancer and other chronic diseases. The fact remains that asparagus is not "a simple solution," it will not "prevent cancer," and to suggest otherwise is more than just a gross oversimplification, it's an outright lie. I can confidently assure you that plenty of people who eat asparagus develop cancer.

Yes, it is true, I did over simplify it. There is much more to it, I was merely giving a suggestion on a few ways to prevent it. True prevention of any illness or disease exists within the mind. How you think determines what manifests within your body.
