      Question Is karma real?

      Ive always wondered weather or not karma is real. Part of me wants to believe that it is and part wants to believe it's not. I think it's not because if we do something bad, then we look for bad events to happen to us. So in a way, it's ones perspective. What's your opinions?

      define real? that was a pretty dumb response, no offense. And basically your saying its ones own thought pattern. Thats what i think it is. But i've had some pretty crazy examples of good AND bad karma that happen to me.

      Wow calm down lads. I was just trying to improve my understanding of the way you might think about what 'real' actually means.

      Here I thought i was on a site of open mindedness, where people think about things on a sub-superficial level.

      karma just means action. actions have effects. so yes, karma is real.

      actually, your response is dumb. he has a point; real as in does karma affect the lives of people, or real as in does it affect people's perception and belief to a degree that it exists in their beliefs and therefore experiences. the original post is also badly phrased. did you expect us to be able to respond with a factual true/false? I think you meant 'do you believe it is real'.

      I think he's pointing out that the magical justice force that the OP is asking about is a purely Western invention with little relation to karma as understood by Hindus and Buddhists.
