Thread: Why do you live?

I live cause I can. Why should there be a better explanation?

Habbit, instinct... If I had to think up reasons. To enjoy myself, to see what the future holds in general (wars, peace-yeah right...) and as you mentioned, how far will we get with technology and science. If the contemporary scientists aren't bullshitting, then it will be pretty interesting in a few decades-nanomedicine, quantum computers, stopping aging, flying cars, shiny futuristic garments etc.

Because I can, that's why. Everything is pointless no matter if there's a heaven or hell or Jebus. I want to experience pleasure without crippling my ability to experience pleasure through unwise decisions about my future.

I basically live for connections, experiences, and simply ideas.

Connections, because I always look forward to seeing the people I love and love me. Being part of someone's life whom you highly respect and love is a good enough reason to be around I think. The feeling of intimacy with a good friend or a lover is what drives me to make those connections. Also, I am always excited to meet new people, because they help you keep your life diversified and unpredictable. Being able to share this life, that we all perceive differently, with others is what makes life worthy of living in some way. I mean, if we couldn't tell anybody about what we do everyday, or about the major events of our lives, would it be as motivating to live?

Experiences, because they are the highs of life. I have to admit, I'm an experience hunter as well as an adrenaline junkie. I naturally get high every time I do something new or epic. Anywhere from eating a new dish to climbing the biggest mountain in sight. There are so many things to experience in a lifetime...and this thought alone is what floods me with ambition. It's crazy to think that everything we do is a certain combination of many things.
For example, let's say...when we eat a new dish, different areas of our brains are stimulated, while new chemical mixtures are introduced in our system, which leaves us with a certain impression of that dish. That impression is unique, and differs from all other dishes you can taste. Same is true for everything else...new sports, new movies, new abilities, new knowledge...they are all different combinations of what our senses perceive, thus making them sort of "recipes". So in a way, every new possibility is a "recipe" to me, that I can either experience first hand, or miss out on! They're kindda like pokemons (yeah horrible analogy), gotta catch 'em all ! (By the way, dreams play a huge role for this as well. Dreams are like a second, more surreal life, where MANY more things are to be experienced. So not only is life full of exciting new adventures and experiences, but so are dreams. That's a double whammy of fun).

Finally, ideas are also something I live for. Like experiences, we can learn and evolve from ideas. It is with ideas that we move forward and that we make things happen. Ideas are also, oftentimes, representation of the future, which in itself, makes life a blast to live. What is going to happen next? Only one way to find out...by living to the fullest.

i'm going to be honest. i live because i worry about my pets,friends,and family.if everyone of them died suddenly i would most likely commit suicide.and not out of sorrow but out of curiosity because it really bugs me that i don't know what happens after we die.if i didn't commit suicide i would live because i would be curious what my life would be like without anyone i know. and i would never make any new friends because that would ruin the fun.i know i'm weird but hey you wouldn't love me if i was any other way.lol my friend always says that.

Good art, exercise in pleasant weather, stimulating conversation, and moments of wonder (more or less always available). Also, to see what happens

Because i have to, i can't stay in bed all day. I go to work because i don't wanna be a bum on the street smelling like human crap, living in a dumpster. I go(went) to school because i had to learn, it was the law when i was young, and i just kept doing it after i could stop if i wished because i was almost done, and i already went far in it. I go out because sometimes staying home is a drag. I work out because i don't wanna be a blimp, i eat because i have to live, same with drink. I talk because i have something to say, even if it's pretty stupid but i work at a place where people say stupid shit all the time.

Nothing has killed me yet.
