      "It isn't natural!"

sometimes it is said, in an argument against something (for example: certain foods, sexual acts, piercings, the use of condoms even), that "it isn't natural."

is that a resonable argument? what does "natural" really mean, anyway?

could be "that which comes from or is found in nature", or majority (which I would consider "natural order").

EVERYTHING is natural in the first sense.

NOTHING is natural in the second sense, because the "majority man" does not exist, or rather, is an illusion, too elusive to ever be real.

      I don't know...what do you consider "natural"?

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.

The only natural things are the things that aren't man-made.

Yes. Nature, not yet corrupted by man. Like old-growth forests, etc.

Being in places like that, natural areas untouched by man, or hardly touched (like maybe if they made a dirt path or something), is a really wonderful experince. It just feels so... right.

Raw materials for man made things are natural. Therefore, man made things are only pieced together by man. Parts of something make up what it is: Ex. Part of you:
      Arm
      Leg
      Testicle

Arms are organic, and so are legs and testicles. So, you must be organic.

The exception to the rule is if something is made from organic and nonorganic parts. Then, it's part organic, part not. It's not classified as one single thing. Call it a hybrid.

All the "freaky shit" that humans do is part of human evolution.. you think cavemen dressed their dogs in sparkly waistcoats and mittens? or participated in battery assisted masturbation.. every single new act or concept that happens anywhere at any point or place in the world is just a part of evolution.. even the stuff thats frowned apon.. its natural because it happened.. " man made" material goods are natural because the human brain naturally advanced enough to invent it

      True.
you think cavemen dressed their dogs in sparkly waistcoats and mittens? or participated in battery assisted masturbation..
      Obviously not.
every single new act or concept that happens anywhere at any point or place in the world is just a part of evolution..
I wouldn't consider serious thought and invention evolution. Evolution is: (wiki) "... change in the genetic material of a population of organisms from one generation to the next. Though the changes produced in any one generation are small, differences accumulate with each subsequent generation and can, over time, cause substantial changes in the organisms. This process can culminate in the emergence of new species.[1] Indeed, the similarities between organisms suggest that all known species are descended from a common ancestor (or ancestral gene pool) through this process of gradual divergence."

No, you're wrong. (It's "upon"). Explain why it's natural because it happened. Is this post natural because it happened?

Man made goods are natural because we advanced enough to make them. Not true. The goods themselves are not natural because we advanced enough to make them. The thought behind the goods are natural (in your implied definition), but I see no correlation between the goods themselves and the advancment of the human mind, other than the fact that someone was intelligent enough to design them.
