That's the best video ever. Would it work with a hamster? My hamsters usually bite.

This is an interesting topic really, I think on animal planet they showed certain apes laughing, they laugh but crying I do not know, they have sadness and happiness but they only seem to express happiness, when sad they just kind of mope around and keep their heads low.

I understand exactly what you feel when you cried watching another man cry on tv, that happens to me all the time.

Once I saw a toilet paper commercial, with those cute puppies, the puppies were so cute I just teared up and smiled, thats a different emotion then crying though. But in my case I cry alot watching tv, or even some videogames pull me in and I cry. Same with laughter.

I don't really cry out of sorrow very much, but on many occasions I've laughed so hard tears came out. Among other ailments were sore cheeks, shortness of breath and an upset stomach.

Someone posted a link to mirror neurons, as I recall. Really, that is sort of the best way to explain the why laughter and tears are such contagions.

What I find most interesting, though, is how these can be conditioned. Like seeing an immensely sad scene in a movie, where there's a violin squeaking out a high-pitched minor ditty, will make you puddle up anytime you hear such music. Or why I crack up like mad whenever I hear this song from the original Dawn of the Dead...

Oh amn. Tell me about it. When I absolutely piss myself laughing my cheeks just ache like hell and I can't really do anything to sooth them.

True laughter drops the ego, as does crying.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.
