well aslong as no one is being hurt then people can do in their own homes what ever they want, as long as it doesn't effect me.
Age of consent is a tough one, i mean i dont think its far for a 17yr old to be a pedophile if he's having sex with a 15yr old, it may only be an age gap of one year in school ( yr 11 and yr 12 if ur english). I do think if there is more then a five year age gap and the younger one is 15, then maybe theres a little problem. I also think that under 15 is kinda to young.
About same sex stuff, again people can do what they want if it makes them happy and they love each other, as long as they do it in their own homes and don't bother me, then meh have fun.
I agree with basically everything there. I think 14+ is an okay age to be having sex, but 18+s having sex with under 14s or 15s is a bit sus. One thing I hate is stories of 18 year olds going to jail for 20 odd years for having sex with their 17 year old girlfriend of boyfriend.Quote:

I think statutory rape is BS as it is now, because people Will believe a female over a guy and if she gets pissed at him as it is now. . . She can just say rape if she is under age and he is older, sometimes not even 18 but just older I think.

I agree. 18 yr olds shouldn't be sent to jail for sleeping w/ a 17 yr old. Though, I think you should be at least 16 before you actually start having sex. There are way too many 12 yr olds sleeping around and becoming pregnant. I have nothing against homosexuality or gay marriage. Though I think that a person should have to be 18 in order to get married. As it is, you can get married at 16 as long as your parents consent (or do they even have to consent?).
Sex is our nature, and we're stuck with it, so I'd very much prefer a society that was 100% open about it. Laws are far too strict and don't take into consideration the subjective nature of sex.
Although, I think life would be so much easier without sex. Imagine if sex got replaced with playing cricket - people wouldn't be ashamed to admit that they practiced their swing in bed every night, or that they had a game of quick cricket with the girl next door...
Imagine sex being replaced with something that gave us as much of a feeling of euphoria, but that didn't have the sometimes harmful consequences. Such as science research or something. Imagine how far we'd progress!
The age of consent thing is very complicated. In an ideal world, it would not be so much about how old someone is, but rather:
1) Are their bodies ready for it?
2) Are they mature enough?
But you can't test that objectively, so we have an age of consent. There are plenty of people below the age who are quite ready and mature. There are also plenty of people above the age of consent who definitely aren't ready. I suppose the age thing is probably the best way to go when we're talking about billions of people. It's very similar to drinking age that way. When you turn 21, you don't magically become mature.
As for same sex... it's only unnatural in the same way skydiving is unnatural. And it doesn't hurt anyone, so let people do what they want, and let them file joint taxes if they so desire.
I think a big thing with sex is, the stupid abstinance only education. It just doesn't work! But, I think sex is great, and it shouldn't be a taboo thing. It's a beautiful thing, and I don't understand why people are so calloused in regards to human nature.
It's not that people are exactly, it's that they are told to be. Just look at how sex ios portrayed in the media sometimes. You know we hear about rape and how people are to young to be having sex, then we ge the whole STD's reminder all the time. People get brainwashed and start thinking negatively about it.Quote:

Only each person knows when to start having sex... If a person is too young to have sex and still decides to have it, it was that person's choice... Nobody will pay for their mistakes but theirselves. It's kind of a self discovery.
Being sixteen, I know I'm ready to have sex by now but I also thought so some time ago and I now realize that I was wrong. I never made the mistake of rushing into it, though, and I'm thankful for it. I don't think it would have screwed up my personality if I had done it, though... As long as you choose to do it yourself, the only consequence I can find is disappointment or not really understanding what you did... And time will make you grow out of this confusion.
I find age of consent to be a positive thing because for those who wanna have sex earlier than it... They'll have it anyway. But it saves a lot of trouble to a lot of people cause older people are reluctant to have sex with someone younger than 16 and most times don't...
I think you should be allowed to have sex the age that you want to. I don't really understand laws against it. And for Same sex, I really don't understand it, but i really don't think that the goverment should make laws that clearly discriminate gays. They should have the same rights.
While im not against sexuality, and the act of sex itself I think its very important to understand why it is illegal (not morally wrong) to be involved with intercourse before a certain age.
There are many kids out there who are just plain irresponsible, use protection kids. Ok back to my point, with this irresponsibility comes babies. Who's going to take care of a baby when the parents are 15 years old, think of the life that new born would have.
The simple fact is in Canada atleast, 18 years old is the legal age of adulthood, people graduate at 18, they are able to hold fulltime jobs, they are more responsible, they would LIKELY be able to take care of a child with another parent. Compare that to a 15-16 year old teenager who is in school, could not hold a fulltime job, is not as responsible and intelligent etc etc... The baby would likely get passed on to the kids parents, and then they'd have to take care of it, babies are expensive. All in all, theres laws and regulations put in to western society for a reason folks.
As for "same sex" sex, I dont really care if its natural or not, it is completely acceptable. As is anything, as long as it isnt infringing on the rights of others or promoting hate.
A person is not ready for sex until he or she is ready to deal with a pregnancy. A person is not ready for sex with an adult until he or she is fully grown. In Mississippi, the age of consent is 16 unless the adult is an authority figure, in which case the age is 18. I think I agree with that philosophy. Our laws cut a lot of slack for people having sex with underage people as long as their ages are not too far apart.
As for homosexuals, it is astonishing how so many people make such a big deal of it. I admit that I am disturbed when men hit on me, but as long as they don't touch me and can take no for an answer, I don't have a problem with them, and I sure as Hell don't care what they do when they are consentually with each other in their own places. They are genetically wired to have their preference, and no amount of effort can ever change them into heterosexuals. Could Richard Simmons decide to be attracted to women? It's an absurd picture. And how is it the world's business if he does what he does with men who agree to it? As for female homosexuals, they get two thumbs up!
Parents should teach kids about sex, and make sure they don't even want it, before they can really handle it.

Sex is something that is quite natural, but of course, laws are there for a reason. I really don't dig the whole religious dogma against it, since to me, it is incredibly illogical to make sex a taboo subject. Surrounding the topic of sex with fear is just stupid in my eyes. Its medieval and has no place in modern society . If anything, all it takes is for people to be more open, and bam, a whole load of the problem is sorted out. Kids need better education on sex, and not from just teachers but from their parents too. Plus there will always be the ones who want to try it, and facilities to provide them at least the means to get contraception should be in place. This isn't a perfect world, but at least we can make it better nonetheless.
As for same gender sex... I see nothing wrong with it. Sexuality, in all forms, should be recognised and respected, because its something that is a part of you. Plus, most people don't even take into account the whole spectra of fetishes, so a lot of people fail to recognise that sexuality isn't a black and white matter. And besides, who said gays had to take it in the ass? Again, the whole issue of fetishes kicking in. And its something everyone has, a fetish. Whether its something as simple as lingerie, to full blown bondage and the like. I know I have mine, but most don't even dare to explore their fetishes.
So, all in all, sexuality isn't black and white, its a whole spectra of colours and shades. So as far as sex is concerned, a lot of people just aren't educated well enough about it, and it shows within everyone's perceptions of sex. That's my 2 cents on the matter...
There shouldn't be a law against 14 year olds having sex with each other, but there should be a law against 14 year olds having sex with 44 year olds. That does make a difference. Also, a lot of parents are successful at convincing their teenagers that sex is fun but that teenagers aren't ready for its consequences. It's always worth a try.Quote:

Besides this, what do you people think of this -popular in some parts of America- sex education that is directed towards Not-having-Sex. There is a word for that but I forgot it. I mean, it clearly does not work to just expect children not to have sex until they are married or 18 or older. Abortion-rates and teenage pregnancies don't lie. I think all sex education should be about information, facts, dangers. All the decision making should be in the hand of the parents, supported by laws from the government (just to make sure no 50 year old woman rapes a 3-year old boy, and such).
You have to acknowledge that these kids go to school. It messes up their future if kids are getting pregnant anywhere under the age of 18. and if you get pregnant at age 18 i say you are still on very thin ice with college and everything
