Casualties of war as they would put it.
Yet somehow people still believe we should be there. This brought tears to my eyes.
Soldiers are just paid murderers, fuck war!
Why are we over there again? I keep forgetting. It's to kill terrorists right? Or was it to liberate them from tyranny... Anyone?
Handcuffing <5 year olds and executing them in their home is just casaulties of war in your mind? Your soul must be a cold dark place, indeed.
Things sorts of things are happening because of opinions like this one. Most of us are either numb to the depravity that is done in our name or too lazy or stupid to realize what is going on.
The only explanations I can think of for incidents like this one are either that our military employs sociopathic killers who enjoy destroying the lives of innocent people or that part of our true mission in these wars is to actually promote terror. This incident was as close to a cut and dry terrorist act as any that you will find.
Edit: you said, "as they would put it". Are you expressing your own opinion, and if not; who are they?
Warzones are...stressful. Things like this are bound to happen to some degree.
Stress caused Coalition forces to handcuff children and shoot them in the head, and then call in an airstrike to cover it up? That really is a good enough answer for you? It is my opinion that your opinion is a morally bankrupt one.
I'm not defending them. These things should be expected in any war. Or at least we shouldn't be surprised when they happen.
No one is asking you to be surprised. Honestly, I am not even surprised at your indifference; only deeply disturbed by it.
I think the title of a Led Zeppelin song sums it up pretty well:

How Many More Times?
If this is an expected thing in war, maybe we shouldn't be having wars? Hello?
man that's just depressing
I think he's trying to say that in prolonged war it should be expected that these kind of atrocities take place here and there. The extreme stresses and circumstances of the combat environment can drive even level-headed individuals to commit terrible acts of violence. It's not forgivable, it just is. There is no clean war.
War is not a video game son, collateral damage happens, perhaps if you were in a war zone where the man plotting over how to kill you is the guy across the street, you would be a little more jumpy.
What do you value more, a no name kid that will probably lead a sub-par life? or your best friend with his wife waiting at home hoping he doesnt get killed?
This wasn't because they were "jumpy." They bound the hands of CHILDREN and executed them. Not collateral damage.
We wouldn't HAVE collateral damage if we weren't over there in a country that we have no business in whatsoever. Simple solution to an enormous problem.
