Sooo wish I was a girl.

Has anybody ever wished that they were the opposite gender. I wish I was a girl, as I think I would be much better at it. I think socializing would be easier for me if I was a girl. I'm not saying that it is easier for all girls to be successful socially. I'm just saying that I think it would help me a lot. The main guy from Synechdoche New York said this and I found myself identifying with him in many ways. I'll never act on this feeling though, because I'd like to avoid being labeled a freak by most of society.

Also, boobs would be a fun thing to have.

Anybody feel the same way? Male or female?

I can't remember ever seriously wanting to be a girl, but I can understand where you're coming from. If you don't mind me asking, are you gay?

You're not bi if you're confused (but you could be confused because you're bi). Sexuality is mostly genetic, or at least can't be changed due to one's desire to feel one way or the other. Thus, you definitely are gay, straight, or bi, you just don't know which yet. EDIT: Or in between, of course. The point is your conscious confusion has no effect on your innate preference.

Anyway, I've never wished I were a female permanently or seriously. Boobs are nice, though.

He might have yet to place himself on the Kinsey Scale, too. It can be hard figuring out where you land when puberty is kicking in.

I think girls actually have it tougher socially. While us guys are always dealing with being shy vs. being bold, girls tend to deal with things on a more rank based level. Social status and all that jazz. Even meeting cool REAL men can be tough. The hotter you are, the more you have to deal with men putting on a show and not being themselves. If you talk to some beautiful women about this, you'd be amazed at what they'd tell you about their perspective and experiences when they are truly opening up to you. Definitely, not everyone's the same, but many people in our society deal with similar issues and problems.

But if your reasoning is sexual preferences, I can certainly understand where you're coming from. I love being a man, however, it isn't exactly something EVERYONE wants to be. I believe that as you continue to go through different life experiences, you'll learn more about what you prefer in many situations. These experiences will show you your preferences

I think women definitely have it harder in today's society, so I wouldn't want to be one permanently...at least, not in this day and age. Add in that I'm attracted to women, and...yeah. Not much good can come of that.

On the other hand, were things more equal and lesbians in greater abundance, and I didn't have to go through the whole genital mutilation surgery bit, then yeah, I think it could be fun. :3

This post is almost three years old, and now you have a female symbol for your gender status. Did you go through with the change? (It might be a while before you read this, if you ever do.)

There's nothing wrong with feeling this way. If you really want to "go through with it", one way or another, then don't let society stop you. It's a good thing that you're exploring these parts of your personality, and talking to other people about it is very rewarding, as opposed to just thinking about it all the time.
Personally, I also sometimes felt like I wanted to be a girl when I was younger, it's always been something I've thought about, but now I'm pretty confident in my gender and sexuality. Like many others, I wouldn't mind trying out the other side, but it's not really something I burn for. Maybe you'll end up feeling this way too and just be an ordinary bisexual person, maybe you won't.
