Inception - Do you like it? - Post your Review

I just wanted to have a thread with everyone's opinions and reviews. Vote in the poll, too. It will be interesting to see everyone's views after seeing it, because everyone was so looking forward to it. I will assume it was just as good as everyone expected, if not better.

I also want to know if it really does have as big a focus on Lucid Dreaming as we all expected it to.

I haven't seen it yet, but I will, and when I do, I'll post my review here too.

Also, try not to reveal the plot, unless you put it in [ spoiler][/spoiler] tags.

      Thanks.

      Cool

Inception was incredible, especially for me, since I am fascinated with dreams! I think anyone on this site will enjoy it, since obviously to be part of this site, you would be into dreams! The effects were mindblowing!

With Avatar, I didn't mind the poor storytelling because personally, I was so engrossed in the visuals (being an artistic person). Inception was more of both - the visuals and the storytelling. Both were good in my book.

I most likely wouldn't be on this site if it wasn't for watching that movie. I have been more and more intrested in my own dreams, then that movie came along. Saw it for the first time on DVD release date, and was blown away. It was way too much to take in the first time tho, but I watched it 2 more times and still so amazed. If you go to watch it, watch it twice, and try to have no distractions durring.

Also been wanting a blueray player for some time, but this movie gave me a reason to go pick one up.

The sound's really good on the blu-ray, I picked up my steelbook copy yesterday and watched it again. As for the picture quality, it's not quite up there with some of my other blus, but it was still pretty good. The film was as good as the first time I watched it.
A lot of people got into lucid dreaming when the movie was released, even though "lucid dreaming" wasn't necessarily said in the film.

      hoolyyy craaaaaaap.

just got back from it a bit ago. i wasn't disappointed in the slightest. the acting was solid and my jaw was slack a lot during the movie, haha - the effects were VERY well done.

though lucid dreaming is the whole basis for the plot, don't expect it to be a realistic portrayal of what lucid dreaming is.

best movie i've seen in a while

I really liked it. Acting top notch. Story top notch. Characters... as good as a film of it's kind allowed them to be.

If there's one fault it's that the script is sometimes built to confuse, which can be frustrating. But as with all Nolan films, you can figure it out in the end.

I've just got back from seeing it, and I have to say it was pretty amazing how they made the whole sub-conscious part of the movie look amazingly realistic. By the way for those who have seen, do you think his totem was going to fall? I mean, he saw his kid's faces so...

i think the idea was that it didn't matter, reality cannot be "real" anyway so if you're happy and ignorant... but if i had to give an answer i'd say i think it does drop... grrr maybe not though, he was being chased by a corporation for failing a job that was created as a test to begin with... my wife thought it could be one big loop, like a constant dream...

Ok, Zac, I agree, he didn't bother waiting to see if it would topple, he was just happy to be home with his kids

I enjoyed every part of this film, DiCaprio was fantastic and, no, I do not think he was dreaming at the end. Earlier in the film, when dreaming of that room and scene, he is wearing a wedding band. At the end, the wedding band is gone.

You've got it, but, it's EVERY scene where he is dreaming he is wearing his wedding ring, as a subconscious link to his wife. Every scene in reality he is not wearing it, including the final scene.

First let me tell you guys I have read every one of your post because I was kind of curious about the end of that movie. To me at first, it was obvious that he wasn't dreaming or the movie would just be blah. But after reading every replies I am in doubt and will try to watch the movie again to get some answers.

      Few good points :

      1) How the asian and him got back to the real world
      2) The forger was able to create a weapon because hes a forger or because its his dream?

Now this is very interesting also, because before the final scene his subconscious finally "let go" of his wife which means that the ring went away at the same time so maybe he gave inception to himself that his wife was wrong and that he was right...or something like that..follow me?

      Such a nice movie.

Definitely a must watch for anyone whose on this site, let alone anyone who has even had a dream. And my theory is that the top was going to fall, after all it was teetering in the last shot, and we see the kids faces.

Inside 'Inception': Could Christopher Nolan's Dream World Exist in Real Life? - ABC News

Apparantly Nolan practiced lucid dreaming when he was a teenager.

I myself had heard of lucid dreaming before but never really attempted at it, and my interest was piqued again after watching inception yesterday.

      And the movie was awesomee.

Thanks for the friendly welcome!! I've already read the tutorials and I've decided DILDing is the best for me since I have summer school, and 3 more years of high school and then college.

I thought it was good, not very good. It was a bit too dramatic for my tastes. There were some flaws in logic as well. Like why couldn't they just turn themselves into giant dinosaurs or mecha to defend themselves? It's what I would have done. Definitely one of the season's best films, but it's not winding itself onto my top favorites.

I'm going to be pissed if the lucid cat gets out of the bag because of this movie. I cringe at the thought of an association being drawn with this movie every time lucid dreaming is mentioned. And besides, I like our happy little subculture of lucid dreamers.
