Thread: The stupidest/strangest movie you've ever seen?

strangest movie you've ever seen that is Blood: The Last Vampire.

Step Brothers was just the all around worst movie I've ever seen.

As far as weirdest; Primer. It was a movie I really wanted to like because it was about things that I find interesting (time travel). It was just super confusing which was sort of intended, but on top of that all of the actors were horrible mumblers so even if it was possible to understand the plot, you still couldn't because half the time it was impossible to understand what they were even saying (even with the volume turned up loud enough to be too loud).

I thought it was highly entertaining. I mean, I am not saying it should have won Best Picture or anything, but it was certainly fun.

It's a tossup between Twilight and Werewolf (1996 film). Luckily, I saw the Mystery Science Theater 3000 version of the latter, so the painful lousiness of it was lessened.

These two for sure top all the rest.

Edit: Had to add one more. Yeah, I've seen some pretty terrible movies. It was sort of a hobby that me and my friends had in college.
Hood Angels (2003)

I watched "Bad Boy Bobby" a while ago. I have to say that movie was weiiird. It's about a man called Bobby who lives with his mother in a basement and have been told the air outside is toxic by his mother, so he never leaves the house. The first 40 minutes of the movie portrays this weird dysfunctional relationship between him and his mom; she washes him, has sex with him and Bobby is fascinated by her boobs.

So after about 40 minutes he gets out of the house (and no, the air is not toxic) and the movie instead turns into this weird adventure where he meets random people, grabs a bun without paying, joins a band, etc. This movie is so weird it's actually pretty good.


I used to watch a movie called "Reckless Kelly" a lot when I was younger. It's one of those comedies that are so stupid they're actually funny. The director/main actor of that movie is called Yahoo Serious (no joke), and the pre-credits say "A SERIOUS MOVIE", so yeah. It's a braindead comedy, but it's all good.

All three of those are terrible, terrible movies, but to be honest Warriors of the Wasteland is the worst. I think you can find it on youtube in segments. It's only like 50 minutes or something so it's a good laugh if you're bored. I still have no idea how serious they were when they made it. If they really wanted it to be a serious movie, that makes it so much funnier. After seeing it about 10 times, I still have no idea what the end was about. I don't want to give it away, so let's just say that you'll be in for a confusing, hilarious, and somewhat disgusting surprise.

I'm a little surprised that you named Heavy Metal. Wasn't that kind of iconic? I mean, they even had games for that one and I think the films are based on the comics. 6.4 on IMDb isn't that bad either...

I thought it was fucking terrible.

Conspirators of Pleasure
It is the strangest and most engrossing funny movie I ever saw. I think that it is a Polish movie. There is no speaking in the movie so there are no subtitles. The expressions on the faces are priceless.

Spoiler for Plot summary:

Plot summary: In Prague, Mr Pivonka, an unmarried man, buys some pornography from his local newsagent, Mr Kula, and returns home. A postwoman, Mrs Malková gives him a letter which reads "On Sunday" in cut-out letters. In secret, she then rolls pieces of bread into little balls and carries them in her satchel. Pivonka asks his neighbour, Mrs Loubalová, to slaughter a chicken for him. Using the leftover feathers and papier-mâché made from the pornography, he constructs a chicken head and fabricates wings made from umbrellas. Meanwhile, police captain Beltinsky buys rolling pins and pan lids from the same shop that sells Pivonka's umbrellas. Using these items, plus stolen pieces of fur and sharp things, Beltinsky constructs unusual objects in his workshop. His wife, a newsreader named Beltinska, feels neglected and buys some live carp. She is unaware that Kula is in love with her image and has constructed a machine rigged to stroke and masturbate him when she is on television. Pivonka and Loubalová construct life-size effigies of each other.

On Sunday, Pivonka drives to the country with his effigy while Loubalová takes her effigy to an abandoned crypt containing a closet, a chair with candles and a basin of water. Loubalová emerges from the closet and whips her straw effigy which, being animated, reacts. Pivonka dresses in his chicken outfit and struts around his similarly animated effigy, eventually crushing it with a boulder while Loubalová drowns hers in the basin. At home, Malková shoves an unfeasible number of bread balls in her nose and ears and takes a nap. While Beltinská strokes her carp and feeds them the bread balls Malková later delivers Beltinsky strips naked in his workshop and rubs his objects over his body. When Beltinská reads the news, Kula turns on his machine and climaxes at the same time that she does, stimulated by the carp sucking her toes under her desk.

On his way home, Pivonka is fascinated by Beltinská's image in a television shop window and stops to buy electronic equipment magazines at Kula's shop. Kula is now covering rolling pins with feathers; Malková looks longingly at a carp in a fishmonger's windows. Pivonka discovers that Loubalová has been killed in her flat by a boulder that has seemingly dropped through her roof; Beltinsky is investigating. Entering his own flat, Pivonka sees the chair with candles and the basin of water awaiting him. His closet door slowly opens...

How about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind? I found that to be complete mindfuck, and awesome as hell.

2001 a space odyssey, also the sequel. primer was a weird movie too.

yeah but also the monolith made no sense at all.

2001 made perfect sense. It's actually a masterpiece. It's incredible.

You should read the book, then you would understand everything that is otherwise just illustrated by the scnenery. When you really got it, you'll also get why it's regarded as one of the most profound pieces of science fiction ever created. But even only adressing the movie - maybe just wait a few years before seeing it again, you might come to different conclusions. (The book does explain a lot about the ending, though)

Mindfuck, sure. Awesome, sure (love Gondry, dislike Winslet though), but it's really not stupid/strange.

The monolith was a symbol for evolution, culture, our insignificance as individuals, and the challenging of our paradigm. It was the centerpeice of the movie that tied the four stories together. The mindscrew parts come from those final scenes with the alternate/old self, the room, the mirror, the fetus... I have not read the book and so have been left only to speculate. But I have my theories... Despite the fact that I think acid would help me to appreciate the ending better. And: 'Open the pod bay doors, HAL' still sticks with us. Still, the thread title isn't just stupid movies as it is also strangest. 2001 was 'strange.' One of good ole' Stans real abstract works of art. Make sure if you rewatch it catzi that you are not tired, will not be interrupted and have to watch it in segments, and that you are in a philosophical mood, (as well as in the mood for classical music.)

What the hell, dude? That movie is a freaking masterpiece, along with most things made by Stanley Kubrick. Rewatch it, think, enjoy.
