Eh. Maybe the far away shots on the tiny view boxes, but upon closer inspection, far from it. The lighting's close. |

Look what consoles has done to you. You actually think that is good graphics? It's hardly better than Gears of War, and it's definitely not better than Crysis. A game that was released in 2007. |

Console? What console? That's a PC with dx11 maxxed out :3 |

Yes, but the game has also been released on the Xbox360, which means that the developers have to put limits on the graphics. This can typically be seen in the texture resolution and amount of objects in the scene. You very very rarely see a scene with more than 5 mutants/players. You very rarely see a scene with more than 10 movable object, or widely covering foliage. |

I wonder if we'll ever achieve photo-realism in games. Well at least when I'm still alive. |

We will be getting closer the moment that we get real-time rendered global illumination. Epic Games is working on implementing pre-rendered GI in their Unreal Engine, which is a huge step towards extremely realistic lighting, but until we get the processing power to actually render GI real time, we won't be seeing anything close to photo realism. |
