Look, the people who are obsessed with Twilight are:

If it wasn't for then fan girls, it wouldn't be such a bad book....

I think the book is wondeful, as for the movies, however... I knew as soon as they said they were planning on making the Twilight movie, that the reputation of the book would diminish...

I personally do like Twilight, I think Stephenie Meyer is an extremelly creative woman, and I wish that it had of stayed just a book, as the amount of girls my age that obsess over Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner is astonishing and ridiculous... The author never meant for it to become like this...

It was inevitable that teenage girls would have this reaction, and so I said my goodbyes to the book that had a good reputation and no controversy a long time ago...
I swear to god, I stayed home from school the day the Eclipse Trailer came out, because girls at my school have a tendancy to go a little OTT when it comes to Twilight. It honestly depresses me when I think back to the day Twilight was just another good book.
Now it's all immature teenagers that drool over Robert, who, in my opinion, doesn't work at all for the part of Edward.

And what ever happened to it being a teenage fantasy romance? From what I hear, all they're planning on doing in Eclipse, is making a huge battle scene. And where did all those quotes go from the books?
The movie really ruined it.
I also hear the author got the director of Twilight fired, as her view on Twilight, Bella and Edward was completely wrong. I completly agree, and I'm sure everyone who has read the books would agree at least a little with that...

I refuse to even see Eclipse...
I'm going to hide under a rock from June 30th until September...

But why does everyone hate the books so much? It's honestly just a book... Chill. xD

This means, there is no such thing as a right and wrong vampire... If the author wants to make them sparkle, she can. If she wants to make them more human-like then blood-thirsty demons, she can. That's her personal choice and opinion on what a vampire is. Okay, so Dracula is the original, but that doesn't mean it's the correct one. As I say, they are in fact fantasy... Fantasy, people... You can make them turn into unicorns if you want... xD

She states several times in the book how the unequality between them upsets her, and how she wishes a) she was prettier or was as talented as he was, just to make up for some of the unequality, or b) that he was the same as her; human.
Why else would she trade her human life for a dead, souless vampire, willingly? She argues with him through the entire series about wanting to become a vampire so that she can spend eternity with him; her true love.
She also has a conversation with Jacob Black, where Jacob (like you ) assumes it is because of his good looks, and she tells him that that is, of course, not the reason...
Like most other romance books, it's a case of true love. Not looks.

I think all we're saying is glittery Vamps are pansies. At least that's what I'm saying. I can fully understand that they are fictional all I want. But if they glitter, they are pansies to me. Movies or no, I didn't like the book when I first heard about it, which was before the movie came out.

That's probably why I like the series I mentioned in my other post so much; aside from the sex magic, there is no real, true romance.

I'll admit, the whole glittering thing isn't a characteristic I would put down on paper when writing about a vampire, either.

You know what, "the whole glittering thing" is the ONE aspect of the books that I think is respectable.

Kudos to Meyer for going out and reinventing what it means to be a vampire.

We GET that they're not real. All I'm saying is that it's a quality that, to me, a vamp shouldn't possess. The Twilight vamps to me are like the many vampires today that walk in sunlight to my mom. She is from the Dracula age so to speak, so she kind of doesn't like that they walk around in the sun in tons of the works written today. To me, that's the most DRASTIC change to the original concept of a vampire, and it's one I love greatly. Sparkly skinned vampires just make me think of girls.

They aren't real. People can make them how they want them to be. I personally think glittering vampires is not something I would include in a book, but obviously Stephenie Meyer does. That is her decision, and am indeed a fan of the books because of their uniqueness.

@ SnowyEgypty - And that is your opinion. You and Meyer are both allowed one.

I find the whole thing amusing. The Twilight phenomena is eternally juicy for us amateur psychoanalysts to dissect.

Does anyone else know that Edward is actually a poser? I think they really have to get rid of all these Team Edward and Team Jacob groups. I think Harry Potter is better than all of em.

Twilight actually is not that bad. The first book is bad but the other three are AMAZING. I may be a boy, but I know a good boo and that's a good book.
