Okay well just ordered a game off eBay for ps3, now all I gotta do is wait for it to arrive and buy the console at some point in between.

i wasn't debating the prices of the xbox vs the ps3.Quote:
Prices are pretty much similar. Plus, PS3 slim is rather cheap too. I don't think debating from a price stand point will hold water, especially for an xbox (cost for online additives). However, you are right; a gaming PC is definitely the most expensive.
nobody does this.Quote:
You can buy a mic for like $20..
yes i have played PSN and nobody talks on it. there is no cooperation between teammates and therefore the gameplay suffers in games where you need to communicate. on the xbox you can jump into a game and the first one you join will be full of people with mics. if you don't like those people, you can find another lobby. easy as that.Quote:
I guess you havn't played PSN..? I have no problem talking with my team-mates at all..?
I don't experience any real difference between the two consoles online. Doesn't it depend on what systems your friends have..?
If you want to debate which system has best online communication, then PC wins by a landslide. (Vent FTW)
there are a lot of great games on the 360 which aren't on the ps3. and for someone who does not play games on their PC, or prefers console experience, the 360 is the best choice. most of the games that are on both the PC and 360 are designed specifically for the 360 and ported to the PC. they are made for that console and they work best on it.Quote:
What exclusive on the Xbox are you so favorable about? I don't see one that's worth mentioning, especially one that is not on the PC.
also: multi-platforms are better on the 360 90% of the time.
we could argue for 13,000 years about these things but like i said many times before it all comes down to personal preference and taste in games/controllers/interfaces. if you want blu ray and free online and you like the games, get the ps3.. if you want good online experience, better community, better controller, better multiplatforms and you like the games, get the 360.
I did.
Maybe you should consider your friends on the PSN hate you then. I certainly have co-operative teams on the PSN. lolQuote:

What games..? Carou. already went over the scores.Quote:

Seriously.. you are going to argue that graphics are better on the 360 than pc? You're kidding right?Quote:

~
yes the graphics are better. you might have ignored them but there have been comparison videos for almost every multi-platform game and the 360 looks and plays better on mostly all of them. the cell processor was good for marketing and it is slightly better than the processor in the 360 but the 360 has better altogether hardware. look it up, the 360 has better memory, 512 MB as opposed to the 256 on the ps3. that's why the games look and play better.
the xbox 360 has better games than the ps3. i don't care if you are going to say that the ones ported to PC aren't "true exclusives".. i don't play PC games and i don't care which ones are ported to it. i have all the games i want and need on the 360, and nothing on the ps3 interests me other than final fantasy 14.
so you say you have good teammates who co-operate .. well how long did it take you to find them, how many lobbies did you have to go through until you found one with someone talking? on the 360 you jump into a game and 75% of the people in there will have mics. any game with multiplayer is going to be a more enjoyable on the 360.
moral: PCs suck
I'm just going to hop in and say, maybe it's been awhile since you played on the PSN, because I know when I play COD, most matches at least half of the people in the game are using mics, not including myself since I rarely use mine just because I feel like a tool sitting in my bedroom while my family thinks I'm talking to myself. I only use it if I actually have a team that is tactic-oriented, or if I'm playing with friends.
I have to say, that I've never really noticed any game make much use of tactics, regardless of whether everyone on the team has mics or not. I've noticed on Xbox play online, even if everyone has a mic, it's usually just like 6-8 people yelling about how they just got killed, or bragging about how many people they just killed, or telling their teammates how much they suck. Every single person seems to have their own idea of how the team should function, and therefore every person ends up playing individually anyway, and the team doesn't really function tactically then. The only game I've really noticed any difference in, is Left 4 Dead, because it's so focused on being tactical with your team.
That's just what I've noticed over my travels anyway....
I'm actually kinda glad ps3 players talk less on their mics, I cannot stand voice chat and I want to strangle the asshole who invented it.
When I spend 60 bucks on a game I don't want 10 5 year olds screaming about camping on the headsets, I always set the option to MUTE ALL EXCEPT FRIENDS!
sorry but to me voice chat is the most retarted thing in gaming and if you can't play without it you need to go back to quake 1 quake 2 and many other older games which do not feature that annoying voice chat feature.
Most of the time teamwork isn't even discussed over the mics, mostly they chat about why they died or whine and bitch, plus who cares about teamwork....you play to have fun not to start a marine squad.
if you want real teamwork and 'realism' go join the military, don't go and bitch about it on ps3 and 360.
I've owned a 360 since day one and I love the games and online. I only owned a ps3 for a month. I tryed MGS4, UC2, KZ2, oblivion (which I have for 360 too), Demon's Souls, and Motorstorm... and frankly... none of them were good enough to justify me owning both systems. I admit UC2 is awesome, but KZ2 was stale, MGS4 was dissapointing, oblivion was not different than 360, and Demon's Souls required to much time for me. So I choose 360.
killzone 2 was STALE? I put nearly 90 hours into killzone 2 and i can't stop playing it because i love it so much.
wow. and mgs4 also? (my 2nd fav game)
im sorry dude but if you consider those 2 games bad or a let down then im glad you went to 360.
I couldn't seem to find any 360 exclusives to win me over because all 360 exclusives are on pc which is better than 360 because its like a 360 without a monthly payment and you can mod the games and download maps for FREE.
Halo 3? halo schmalo that would never get me to switch over.
IMO killzone2 is the best FPS shooter ever conceived.
To each their own... I found it to be just another FPS.Quote:

Again, to each their own, I don't see why it's hard to believe... some people like some games, some like others. I'm already catching the scent of a playslave... :cheeky:Quote:

Fair enough... I don't see why you care, and I'm also noticing a bit of subtle judgement on your part. I sure hope you don't turn out to be a judgemental prick...Quote:

Good on you... we're in the same boat then. How much different are we? Other than you being a judgemental prick? Not that much... we both have preferences.Quote:

Uhm... ok... who brought up halo3? None-the-less... you find halo to be inferior to KZ2, and I find quite the opposite. Again, we're in the same boat... but... I'll have a little decency, by not judging you based on what games you like... and then be civilisized enough not to call you a douche in front of everyone... uh oh... sorry bout that... it kinda slipped out. :banana:Quote:

Seriously... keep it in your pants man... you're acting like a goddamn child. Unfortunately you, like many gamers (fanboys more specifically), find youselves so damn insecure that you go out of your way to try and raise yourselves on a pedestal above all others.
I have spoken
Boom!
ouch i was stating opinions. I guess I don't have the biggest attitude :)
I didn't have any 'mean' intentions in that last post, it was more like SHOCK that you don't like killzone 2
my friend also does not like it much and i bust his ass about it every time i see him lol.
he complains about the aiming, im like dude learn to use your fingers and the braincells in your head.
I hope you didn't take the 'im glad you went to 360' as an insult, im glad you went there because thats what you like...who likes to be stuck with a system they don't like?
Chill dude.
anyways, thats just my view...im definately a sony-fan, so what?
when I was a kid the first system I was handed was PSone, then afterwards ps2...so naturally after growing up with PS1-2 I went for ps3 because i never bought the original xbox.
Everyone grows up different, I guess thats why im on ps3 exclusively. I just like sony's products, their exclusives and their controller and the look of the console...I just love it.
Don't get me wrong the 360 looks cool and the controller is nice and comfy too, I just would never buy one because RROD and that for me is the most important reason not to buy a defective piece of hardware.
(not to mention no killzone on 360, no uncharted...no mgs4, no resistance, no infamous which happen to be my favorite games)
Regardless of what you intended... the judgement is still there.
I mean, why is shock even necessary? You act as if MGS4 and KZ2 are sent from heaven and that if you don't like them that it isn't a problem with the game, but with the person. The fact is I have opinions just like yours, and it's rediculous to openly gawk at them... so don't act like the victim here. I'm just stating what seems evident from YOUR response to MY opinions. Of course I don't even know you, so to call you a judgement prick and douche is a bit out of line... but still... I'm a gamer just like you. I like some games, you like some games... no need to place judgement... I'm not gonna say "Wow, you play KZ2? Pfft... stay with the sony group because I don't want a 'person like you' on MY console". Apparently some people don't have the decency to avoid that route... but to each their own right?
I just needed to get that off my back... fanboys are my pet peeve... regardless of what console they hail from.
Fanboys, kill them with fire.
Again, I don't know you, so I shouldn't place judgement... but that post was riddled with douchyness.
edit: "Killzone 2? Killzone smilhzone.... I'd never switch over for that garbage!" LOL :P ;)
dude thats okay vent, venting is good..
anyways before we get lynched for going off topic...lets return to a more civil 360 ps3 recommendation or something.
In my own head it was like this:
(reading posts)
(reading posts)
(kz2 stale) (error, sound the nuclear war alarm)
(danger danger killzone unliked by player #312354)
(error 1010101010010101010101)
(system malfunction)
(system crash)
(just kidding)
still though, may I ask what it is about killzone2 that you did not like?
(lack of story? that i agree with but when 50 helghasts are charging you with AMAZING AI its hard to think about story)
i have so much fun playing the campaign over and over, its so fun to see the dynamic AI always taking cover in new areas and flanking from areas ive never even thought of...its very replayable to me...not to mention killing helghast and hearing them SCREAM IN PAIN OWNS!!!
KILL THE RED EYES! RAWR! its fun to slaughter them like cattle. (even though id prefer to BE a helghast killing the weakling ISA humans)
This is beyond lame. The differences between 360 and PS3 are practically non-existent. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.
Furthermore, how are you (plural) going to decide which one is 'best'? It's an almost entirely subjective concept!
Well, though it is a great fps... like I said... it's just an FPS. I went in with my expectations way too high... and then it hit me... it's just a steroided up FPS. So yeah... that's it.Quote:
still though, may I ask what it is about killzone2 that you did not like?
Anyways, the PS3 does have quality games... but not enough to justify my owning two consoles. I thought UC2 was really fun, and demon's souls could be really fun... but really... two games don't justify an entire console. I just stick with my 360... I like the Dashboard, a lot of the games, xbl is solid (not that I've had too much experience with psn), and natal might be kickass. Plus, I'll admit I have a weakness for Elder scrolls, fable, and all things bioware.
lol you gotta be trolling
PC's easily outclass any console just in the very fact that there video card capabilities are drastically higher. To argue that consoles graphics cards are better than PC's is simply stupid.
XBox 360 has a 500 MHz ATI Xenos. Compare that with the GTX 200.
Jokes.. that's what it is. You cannot argue with the specs. PC will always dominate in graphics for the simple fact that you can always easily upgrade the card and console game manufacturer's must keep games graphics within limits of the consoles default graphics chipset for most potential distribution.
You gotta be trollin. That, or you are ignorant to what a chipset is.
Also, just because you had a bad experience on PSN doesn't mean that others did. Most people I know are on PSN and I had crappy experience with XBox live. Am I going to glorify that? No.
Compare the two objectively; PS3 wins.
Making the objective decision; PS3 and gaming PC is the best combination. Unless you like Halo. Or you are fervently passionate about the Xbox controller.
Oh wait, you can connect the Xbox controller to the PC. lol.
Oh wait, you can connect the PS3 controller to the PC. lol.
Unless you like the exclusives only on the Xbox.
Oh wait, there's none that are rated high at the moment. Why aren't you mentioning the names of any, by the way? I can only think of Halo.
That's fine - if you like Halo. However, there are more higher rated exclusives for PS3 than Xbox 360.
~
i'm pretty sure this is the only reason anyone backs the ps3.Quote:
when I was a kid the first system I was handed was PSone, then afterwards ps2...so naturally after growing up with PS1-2 I went for ps3 because i never bought the original xbox.
to onus: dude once again i wasn't comparing the graphical capabilities of the PC vs the xbox.. it's like you're purposely misunderstanding me.. i was comparing the ps3 vs the 360, and the 360 has better specs all together.
the PC of course has better specs better but only if you have the money to get a good one. most people don't have PCs that are spec'd better than consoles. and even if they do, perhaps they prefer the console experience like i said.
if you are one of those people who does NOT have an expensive PC or prefers the console experience, then the 360 is your best option.
you're completely wrong about the higher rated games thing.
http://www.metacritic.com/games/ps3/scores/
http://www.metacritic.com/games/xbox360/scores/
uncharted 2 and metal gear solid 4. big woop.
the xbox 360 has MORE higher rated games period, ps3's 85s stop at number 73 and 360s stop at 82.
it's simple fact that the 360 plays multi-platforms better.. and if you look at the high rated exclusives on there: orange box, left 4 dead 1 and 2, mass effect 2, halo 3, ODST, forza motorsport 3, fable 2, gears of war 1 and 2, and better multiplatforms with better controller and online experience, the winner is clear! :)
to the argument about killzone: i don't think the ps3 controller handle first person games well. the sticks are too close together and they are too light and snappy, you can't get much precision with them at all.
Can't get much precision? then howcome I have great aiming lols...cmon dude you can't say that the ps3 controller is bad for fps, the ONLY bad thing about the ps3 controller is holding the triggers down for a while for crouching can hurt the fingers because the trigger isn't sticking out like it should like the 360 controller triggers.
with killzone i get noscope headshots across maps so im pretty confident my controller is precise, not to mention ps3 controllers use bluetooth 2.0 wireless instead of the inferior wireless connection of the 360's controller which has a slight delay in response compared to the ps3's bluetooth wireless.
As for 360, it may have more games but lets be honest, would you play 80% of them? I sure wouldn't...not many games interest me unless they are a first person shooter, which limits me to halo and a few other oddball fps's on 360...ps3 seems to have a big abundance of fps games so i went with it for that reason also...i love fps.
also, the ps3 processor is highly superior to the 360 processor, the ps3 has spu's which can process multiple things in real time, just compare killzone2 and uncharted 2 to any 360 game and you will see the processors power.
imo the ps3 has MUCH better specs, not to mention it has xdram,
(half of the entire ram yes i know but the rest of the ram is quick as 360's, making the other half of the ram quicker)
the graphic cards are very close in terms of power and speed so that i'll leave alone but the processor of the ps3 can lessen the load on the video card and squeeze MORE graphics into a game than the 360.
oh and did I forget, 1 360 game holds 7 gigabytes, 1 ps3 game holds 50 gigabytes.
Uncharted 2 on 360 would be technically impossible from a graphical standpoint, even if then bumped it down for 360 it would have to be on 10 discs most likely.
360 also cannot play 1080 p movies via blu-ray discs, 360 cannot play divx movies, 360 cannot browse the internet while listening to music and doing many other things at once while browsing the web all in the ps3 menu.
Also, you cannot upgrade the 360 hard drive with a hard drive of your choice, you have to buy one specifically for 360 from microsuck...for ps3 you can buy a cheap seagate laptop drive and have 1 terrabyte of space for 150 dollars on the ps3....
you also cannot install windows xp or linux on the 360 as the ps3 can.
when you use logic and sense, the only real logical choice is ps3, unless you prefer the 360 exclusives that much, i will say good luck avoiding the red ring of death though.
I will say this though, games such as gta4 and other multiplatforms are better on the 360, not because the 360 is better, its because almost every single multiplatform is made on the 360, and cheaply and lazily ported to ps3, so you cannot blame the ps3 for bad framerates on gta4 and some other MPform games that the devs got lazy with.
blame the lazy ass fat developers who cant code for the ps3 and port 360 games over with no effort.
as for exclusives, they own on ps3 because they are properly made unlike rockstar games sloppy shitport of gta4.
the bad ports are fault of the ps3 being too difficult to program for. it's sony's fault, not the developers.Quote:

speculation.Quote:

if the developers made uncharted for the 360 and took as long as they did optimizing the graphics it would look just as good if not better.
if you go ahead and actually look up the specs you will see that the 360 has better hardware for everything that actually makes a difference for framerate and visuals. the cell processor is the only thing the ps3 has over the 360, even then it's a very slight difference.
and lol at the logic and sense comment.
you forgot the xdram also, and if developers can't code for ps3, they shouldn't make a ps3 version of their lame game then.
better no ps3 version then a shitty lazy port, ive seen good ports:
call of duty 4 5 and 6....ported beautifally and run at 60 fps constantly no dips
gta4 and others get 15-25 fps, its unacceptable..ps3 could run 5 gta4's at 60 fps ffs.
also, U2 would never run on a 360, its not physically capable of running such a game.
uncharted 2 is 50 gigabytes, along with mgs4 and killzone 2....you need practically 10 discs dvd to match that, thats a FACT not a speculation.
You know what the best "first person" game is? Real life.
rabble rabble rabble... feeble arguing... mines bigger than yours... no mines better... no... no... mines way better... shut-up.... no your's sucks.
What does all this retarded rambling and arguing get you? Who cares? Everyday my faith in humanity dwindles... we already argue over religion, race, politics, land, money... naaaw... that's not enough is it? Lets spends hours a day arguing over trivial garbage like who made the better investment on systems that only differ subjectively. I'm disguisted that you guys even care... I know I shouldn't judge... and it's a dumb thing that I even care that you guys care.... but I've got to say it.
Fanboys are worse than nazis. Nazi had religion, politics, and a charismatic leader at their back... what do you have? Your egos? Put all this wasted energy into something fruitious. Build something, destroy something, make someone smile, make someone cry... just make a goddamn difference no matter what it is.
Gaaah.... what am I doing... nobody is listening (emo tear) and whoever is doesn't care. Meh... it was worth a shot I suppose.
I hear ya mindwandered. ;)
But arguing about this shit is FUN! If I were a proper gamer I'd love to join in too. :P
I am learning a lot through this thread, glad to see it take off.
