I'm a big fan of Altus. You can download all his music for free save for one album. |

I don't really like Steve Roach... I downloaded some of his tracks for meditation, and although the music really does take you places, its too dark for me. All his stuff I've listened to seems to be very dark, whereas I prefer music that's more uplifting. |

My favorite ambient: |

I really love the Silent Hill 2 OST. Has a great atmosphere that's both dark but also blissful and dreamy... Some of the best music in a game, especially for the time it was made |

Some of the music I listened to to create spaces since I was 14 years old... |

Ambient music is great, definitely one of the genres I listened much to at one point. Personally I find that a lot of it is just headache inducing, though I do come across the occasional brilliant stuff. |

This is one of my favorite bands, most of there stuff is classified as post rock but feel like a lot of it is ambient. |

I somehow feel that even their really loud/epic tracks are still ambient. It doesn't seem possible, until you hear it. |

Hell yeah Sigur Ros is amazing. I fall asleep to either their album Agaetis Byrjun or Hvarf-Heim almost every night, I just let my mind wander and go where the music takes me ha ha. |

I am obsessed with this song: |

Baths, Geotic, Aphex Twin, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Vincent Diamante's soundtrack for Flower, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble... |

Farewell, starry wayfarer,
I'll bless your name when I dream of you.
This music is awesome. So is the video. |

You are dreaming right now.
my all time favourite genre! |
|
I'm listening to that right now, it's awesome! It's not really ambient, but do you listen to Shpongle? The Gates of Delirium by Yes is another great song for synesthetics, if you like prog rock. It takes you places that can't even be found in dreams... |
|
Try it out. Do you have a piano or keyboard or something? The idea is pretty simple, basically it is just to play single notes, and display a piece of coloured paper associated with each note that is played. You just do this over and over again until you know which colours go with which notes. Of course you already have colours associated with notes, but it could intensify it. |
|
I don't see colors, I see where the sounds are and and their shape, but I don't really "see" it, I just know where it is and see it in my head. It's hard to explain and probably sounds weirder than it really is. |

Boards of Canada, Marconi Union. Sorry I'm late to this thread, I will be attending regularly in the future. |
|
10 hours of ambient. I think the artist is Austin Sistrunk. You can sleep all night to this. |

Like you Spenner, I love ambient. Of course tastes vary but I could post a cross-section of my likes. Vast abandoned areas - Flatlands by Delirium |
