Ambient Music

I like drone, but rather than making a new thread I'll post here. I suppose ambient and drone are similar enough, although I haven't been crazy for much of the music I listened to from here. I like Stars of the Lid a bit, but pretty much just as background music. I prefer drone music that sort of takes from other genres. Such as:

Bohren & der Club of Gore - jazz / drone
Sunn - black metal / drone
Earth - post-rock (?) / drone
Burial - trip-hop / drone

Anyone have more suggestions like that?

Fatal Nostalgia's a fairly good blackgaze type band.

They released a more ambient verysion of their self-titled debut, called Halcyon Nostalgia. Very calm amd dreamy.

For anyone listening I recommend Port Blue. Some of his stuff is on itunes but most of it is on youtube. Amazing stuff, the artist himself describes the music as the background to his dreams.

I might venture to say that this is the best one I have posted so far.

This is another one by Oophoi. I love a lot of ambient space musicians, but I am starting to lean toward the idea that Oophoi is my favorite of all of them. There is stiff competition, though.

I discovered this lately and really love it too. It's original and unique.
