'09 was an interesting year for the cinema. Oodles and oodles of movies came out during that year. For those of you who have trouble remembering the excess oodles, here's a link to a list.

Least Favorite:

G.I. Joe. The acting was terrible, the CGI was laughable, the story was a horrid Frankenstein abomination, with scenes ripped off from everywhere. All around bad movie. Not much else to say.

Honorable mentions include:

-Ninja Assassin for being ridiculous in a retarded fashion.
-Daybreakers for being good for the first half hour then crashing and burning and dieing like a Navy pilot.

Most Favorite:

Inglorious Basterds takes the cake on this one. After seeing many, many WWII movies, I was a little skeptical going into the theater on this one, but I was pleasantly surprised. The acting and dialogue were phenomenal. It focuses on the interactions between characters in a way that grips you and doesn't let you go. I respect Quentin Tarantino so much for this movie and now I can see why his other films are so highly revered (this is the only one of his I have seen).

Honorable mentions include:

-The Road for being great if not phenomenal in every aspect it attempted except for the fact that it was depressing as fuck.
-Ponyo for inspiring childlike whimsy though I'm not a child.
-The Men Who Stare At Goats for being consistently funny with good dialogue, though lacking somehow.
