Just got back from it. It was pretty awesome. It had a good story and kept me interested throughout the whole movie but they did have the classic "I'm going to shoot this pistol 50 times before I reload" lol, but thats really my only small complaint. I would definitely recommend seeing it.

Seems like a good movie, but I'm not sure densel washington is right for the part. He is a great actor, but I'm just not sure that he would jive with a movie with this kind of plot. Hopefully I'm wrong though, I'm going to see it soon.

I think the movie wasn't that great. The plot was awful imo. It's like the movie was only trying to promote Christianity or something.

Everything else was good, like the actions scenes were pretty cool.

This has got to be the only time I have ever actually agreed with you. The plot was bullshit, but the action and cinematography were very entertaining for the most part.

I had already planned on seeing The Book of Eli. My only hesitation of seeing this movie was who directed this movie (Albert and Allen Hughes). The Hughes brothers are not my favorite directors … or I should say I am not a real fan of most of their previous films they have directed, but for some reason The Book of Eli seemed intriguing to me and I love Denzel Washington as an actor so yesterday I went to see this GREAT movie. I will not ruin the plot … but I really enjoyed the overall plot and the fantastic ending. The cinematography was fantastic and the music that this movie brought to the screen is magnificent. I will want to add the music soundtrack to my library. OK … what could be better … the beginning of this film seemed to me to not come together not as fast as it should. After about ten minutes into the film I was wondering ok what is the reason … why am I here … where is the beginning? This is the only thing I can fault this movie on ant that is the “Not so GREAT beginning.” This movie is well worth seeing and I am glad I spent the time to see Denzel Washington’s performance. I truly believe that he should get an Oscar nomination. One last comment … I now have a movie that I truly love that has been directed by Albert and Allen Hughes. One final comment … it is very refreshing to see a movie on the big screen that at least acknowledges that there is a God that cares for mankind.

Sounds like it's up there with Avatar then.

Indiana Jones proved God's existence through the supernatural powers of various relics and so on and no-one in the film seemed all that surprised by the conclusive answer to one of the largest theological disputes.

Thinking about it the vast majority of mainstream films push the idea that 'faith' is a better response than 'cold science and doubt'. Most sit-coms will have at least one episode where the cynic is made to look a fool by the believer, and begrudgingly admits he may be wrong. Dr Cox gets a moment like that in Scrubs, Ross gets it in Friends, etc etc.

...oh, what, Tom Waits is in the film?

I don't think scrubs sank to that level. Are you talking about that season 6 episode? While at first it seemed to be giving us the "uuhh bad things always happen for a reason" moral, it ended very differently.

From what I've heard of the plot I'm doubting if I'll be able to enjoy this film.
      - Are you an idiot?
      - No sir, I'm a dreamer.
