though decision... fable is really good and morrowind is really good too. and lets not forget diablo... but that might not count as a rpg. anyway its between these three. |

well, no arguments, final fantasy is the best RPG series. |

Enjoying Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines right now, and really liked Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Have to say though that Morrowind with expansions is my absolute favourite. Have tried both Diablo 2 and some version of Final Fantasy. Diablo was just generally boring after a very short while with all the hack and slash and Final Fantasy...well, the cut-scenes where good but the game itself was just slow and extremely boring/bad. |

The Zelda games are not RPGs at all. |

Well they are more of an adventure-RPG style as opposed to core EXP/level/magic gaining RPGs with separate overworld and battle systems. |

1. The Grandia series(most KICKASS battle system) |

Curiosity killed the cat but at least it didnt die an ignorant bastard
RPG stands for role-playing-game. nowhere does it say that you have to have a RTB or ATB battle system. zelda was more free-roam but still an RPG. |

Technically it is a role-playing game. But not something you'd put in say, Wikipedia, for people to learn about. And obviously there are certain traits to a game that rule out less fitting qualities in place of more fitting ones. And there's always marketing. "Fable" was labeled as Action if I'm not mistaken... |
|
you have to use common sense to determine whether its an RPG or not, theres not really any direct line that dictates whether it is or isnt. |

IMO the baldurs gate series definatly are way up there with the FF series, icewind dale was pretty good to. |
