Yeah, I heard Repo Men was pretty bad. I can't say that I expected much, from the previews, but it definitely isn't one that I'll likely be seeing in the theater.

I mainly went and saw it because of this interview with the director: http://io9.com/5496734/breaking-down...brazil-and-qvc

And yes, all those influences are present, but the film doesn't live up to its pedigree

I saw the fourth-kind the other day, its some really creepy stuff. Up in Nome, Alaska there has been multiple alien abductions. This movie showcases real footage from a psychologist and her investigation into her patients and their similar symptoms.

Not to contribute to the off-topicness, but Tekken 3 is the pinnacle of the 2D martial arts fight game. It schools Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter by a couple orders of magnitude.

I saw How to Train Your Dragon, and found it surprisingly good and reminiscent of a Pixar movie.

Wuthering Heights with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche. It was very faithful to the book, but there was just something off about it. Ralph didn't seem right for the rough Heathcliff, and I didn't feel engaged with any of the characters. One thing they did nail though was the dark, brooding, isolated tone from the book. However, that wasn't enough, at least for me. 6.5/10

There's no proof that what's presented in the movie is fact, even the supposed real people and footage... They just tricked you into thinking that.

Ooo. Okay, I just saw New Moon. I'm not a twilight movie fan but I've read the books. I have to say Kirsten or what ever her name is, is a horrible actor. The expression on her face are the same throughout the whole movie (yes I said expression, not expressions) and I was close to falling asleep in the middle of it. I also saw Sherlock Holmes. That movie was good! It was very dark and adventurous. Something right up my alley.

The second Zatoichi: the Blind Swordsman movie. Just discovered that Criterion put the first six up on Hulu

I didn't even know it was a series (apparently there are 26 in all, not counting shabby latter-day remakes). Great lazy-afternoon samurai flicks.

I saw Clash of the Titans. It was very entertaining. Loved the special effects. I can only give it 4/5 stars. some shit was just stupid. DOn't get me wrong I love larger than life stuff, but 2% of the scenes were sappy. However on the account of the special effects I would have to recommend seeing this in the theatres.
