What the fuck?
Though Tarantino does use a decent amount of gore, I'd hardly say that his films usually consist of "over the top blood and gore the whole way through." Have you seen Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs? Two films strongly rooted in dialogue.
Anyway, me and my mom watched Coraline. I really enjoyed it, but I still have to read the book.
I also rewatched UHF today, which was as wonderful as always.

One of the greatest movies I have seen in a while. Tim Burton has a great (although, slightly creepy) imagination! The animation and the effects just blew my mind! I can't see how the person before me said they were disappointed! The screenplay was just awesome! The way the whole story unfolded though, incredible..
That was the same movie I last watched as well. I didn't really like it that much, and it wasn't what I expected, which kind of made me a little mad considering how I had to drive 45 miles to go see it lol. I did like the animation and theme, but the plot and character development was a bit lacking to me.
District 9
Holy Shit, what an awesome movie.
I just saw X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The version I saw was an R5 line, so some of the special effects weren't fully there, but it was a good movie.
EDIT: I've also just seen Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel. Quite an odd movie, pretty unique though, and quite funny.
Paprika was batshit insane. Who needs drugs?
but then the whole stnicka drama that's going on at the same time just adds to irony
Amazing. I'll be keeping that for a while.
Donnie Darko
Pleasantly surprised. This movie was very interesting and thought provoking. Jake Gyllenhaal was fantastic. I strongly recommend this movie.
side note: I didn't care for Donnie Brasco, I found it really boring.
The Proposal
Exactly the same as every other Chick Flick on the planet. Boy and girl hate each other, they are together for 3 days, they go to some small town, they get married. The End
Must have been Vidocq, that French film that takes place in 1800s Paris and is about a detective investigating a series of murders committed by an evil alchemist. It is a very gory film, but at the same time the sets and costumes are beautiful, and all feels authentic, however much that judgment counts for someone who has not done all but amateur study on 1800s Paris. I found out about that movie because of a great song by Apocalyptica called "Hope Vol. II."
I saw Maverick mention Donnie Darko so I checked it out.
Pretty odd movie, very interesting though.
I'm not sure I fully understood the ending though.
Saw Black Sheep, not with Chris Farley, but a New Zealand movie about mutant sheep that attack humans and rip thier innerds out. Pretty awesome. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Good gravy, those kids were small! Fun to go back and watch it again and realize how they've become much better actors.
Last House on the Left
It was pretty good. The ending seemed really out of place though..
"Wrong Turn 2: Dead End"
Not bad for a movie about hayseed mutant cannibals! :D
.
Just got back from watching Inglorious Basterds in the theater. Very good, I'd reccomend it.
Surrogates, pretty hilarious (in a good way).
Observe and report, bad but the ending was so over-the-top it kind of made it funny.
Antichrist (2009), it sure did seem like a decent movie at first, but the ending was one of the worst I've seen. I don't recommend it, in fact I'd give it 1/5 stars.
A Tale Of Two Sisters (2003), a very interesting movie and I especially liked the end. It requires some thinking afterwards (at least by me) and I love that. I give it 4/5 stars and recommend it! :)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Shit was so trippy. I remember thinking, while watching it; "I seriously shouldn't be enjoying this movie so much." Mindfuck and just generally weird.
Srsly, I really liked this movie. I can't find out how high I want to put it compared to other movies I've watched.
Yes Man
Mixed feelings, but mostly I thought it was good. It was also a nice motivator to go out and do shit that I otherwise couldn't be arsed to do.
Surrogates
I almost didn't see it because of all the lukewarm-to-crappy reviews, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's a noir, sci-fi allegory that doesn't take itself too seriously. The writing and acting were only adequate, but overall the film still delivered. I walked out of the theater looking at the world a little differently--not that there were any great revelations, so much as the tone and feel of the movie were still with me.
Saw Zombieland last night, was good, worth seeing
I honestly enjoyed it. It wasn't too full of itself, and the humor was damn good
The drama was just the right size, and it didn't overuse jokes
8/10
Pandorum. It was a really good movie!! I absolutly loved it! The story is awesome and the end is epic!
