The Watch: Gnew it was gonna be great.
The life of Pi: It's one of those MOVIE movies. You know, when you're like "wow, I wish I would have saw this right in the theater". Visually amazing, and surprisingly the story was good as well. My only complaint was how they literally explained everything in the end. Yet another example of why I think things in general are getting dumbed down...but that's a different topic on it's own.
Just a reminder about how movies are going to be next year? It's gonna flop!
2014 gonna have 1-3 movies out per month! It's gonna be like 1930s, people!
How i know this? Look> Movies Coming Soon | New Movies and Upcoming Movies | Tribute.ca
Starts January 2014! No more picking out of 5-7 movies to watch, now soon will be choosing 1-3 movies to watch so be ON time for your movie! LOL Or you gotta watch a shitty one to make it up XD
Yesterday I watched MirrorMask. I love it! I would definitely recommend it. It's funny and clever and moving (at least I think so).
Iron Man 3 As just a movie....it was pretty good. As for how it relates to the comics....seemed way the fuck off. Maybe Mandarins story changed or something, but it just seemed really weird....like totally not what he did from what I remember. Bottom line: It's better than 2.
Rogue River (2012) - IMDb Going to watch this now, i know i will like this because i love survival movies like Saw and etc....will definitely like this from the looks of the trailer!
Warm Bodies was a fucking masterpiece. Hilarious, touching, and an amazing sound track. One of the best films I've seen in a while.
Hansel and Gretel: Witch something or other. Um, action was pretty good. Enjoyed some of the steam punk they had in there (well some of it was more or less "fuck it, we're just going to go all out). The movie had sort of an Army of Darkness feel to it. I also enjoyed how the characters seeming echoed my thoughts at certain citations. Oh, and there was this weird out of place nude scene. I think they could have done a much better job than how they set it up, and what they showed. Either way, it's a good light action flim that probably could have used a little more story in it.
3/5
Personally it disappointed me with the action part, i couldn't finish this movie!!! smh
Summertime (1955) - IMDb
I love this movie! I can see how this lady is so much like me when it comes to love, denying that she is weak! :)
I might watch it again!
Total Recall. Um there's only two things I remember about this move (other than Arnold). Mars, and 3 boob chick. What happened to MARZ!? Action wise, it was pretty good. The first real fight scene had some epic camera work. Chase scene was done good as well. After that, the pace slowed down for more filler stuff for the story. Then things picked back up, but it was more stuff what I had already saw.
3.5/5
Untamed Heart (1993) - IMDb
Cried at the end!
Hansel and Gretel was like a cheesy action grind-house take on Brother's Grimm.
But let's see about the films I've seen more recently...
Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol: Maintained knuckle biting espionage throughout and didn't have the worst premise. Shit ton of plot holes and "the fuck?" moments. The climax was a 5 minute BMW commercial and the villain was little more than some random dude running from Tom Cruise in long, drawn out chase scenes.
Minutemen: A guy played by Luke Wilson inadvertently gets involved in the porn industry and gets trapped in it by the Russian mob. It's pretty funny and has a lot of bare naked titties and the story is actually pretty good. A little heavy on the narration though.
Igby Goes Down: This film follows the "disenchanted youth finds themselves" genre of "The Art of Getting By" and "Perks of Being a Wallflower" but with an upper class New England twist. Unfortunately it has a downfall, in that it's got a really shitty soundtrack. If it had a soundtrack like Garden State, Warm Bodies, Almost Famous or anything Wes Anderson it would have been twice as good a film. People forget the importance of the music chosen for films like this. As is, it's still pretty fucking funny but, for me at least, it was difficult to take any of it seriously. It is fun to laugh at aloof New Englanders though and you get to see Amanda Peet's boobs (but they're kind of a let down)
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone: Maybe I'm just rooting for Steve Carrell, but I really liked this movie. Unfortunately Steve Carrell seems to get whatever roles Will Ferrel was busy for, and I think he has greater potential than that if you use him correctly. It's about Magicians in Vegas and has a great cast, with Steve Buscemi playing his partner, Olivia Wilde as his assistant, Alan Arkin as a has been role-model and Jim Carrey giving his best Criss Angel impression as the up-and-comer. It's not the funniest thing I've ever seen but it's a solid comedy and deserves better reviews than what it's gotten.
Albino Alligator: Kevin Spacey directed this suspense set almost entirely in some New Orleans dive-bar. While the acting was top notch there were a lot of "the fuck?" moments and overall it just didn't come off as a realistic situation.
Dark Skies: Worse than Signs. A lot worse.
Side Effects: Slow paced drama examining the pharmaceutical industry. It's kind of twisted and makes you hate the Big Pharma, as well as people in general.
Safe: Jason Stathem climbs on trains and shit
Black Dynamite: Horrible edits, reused scenes, bad zooms, terrible acting, racial slurs against white people....Obviously this was done to the get the look and feel of an original Blaxploitation movie. It starts out a little too stupid, but then it levels out. As an explotation film, I'd give it a 4/5. Again, it just starts out waaaaay too stupid first few scenes; other than that, it's a solid film. As a film in general, it gets a 2/5. Black Dynamite wasn't meant for general audiences. This movie was meant for the movie goers who can appreciate films made in the 70s.
For you normal people who actually want to get a taste for movies like these. I say you watch Jackie Brown, I'm gonna get you Suckka, The Last Dragon, Foxy Brown, Slaughter, and then Black Dynamite in that order.
Lol, that's Middle Men. I loved that movie. Just watched it again last week actually.
Just watched Iron Man 3 a couple of days ago - What a piece of shit....
Seriously, that was one of the worst films I've seen in a while.
Totally went against the whole story line of the first two.
That was one of my favourite movie series and I was hanging out so bad for the 3rd one
and it was a massive let down. I don't understand what happened, how could they write
something so boring when the first two were so incredible?
It was far too short as well, if it was longer they maybe could have fixed the story line a bit.
I seen Total Recall the extended version, and i like it better! Who ever didn't see it, needs to! ;)
Star Trek: Into Darkness
I thought it was great. Star Trek fans will surely enjoy it.
Iron Man 3
Weak. Diluted the whole Iron Man series, and it seemed to be the final one. The antagonist at first appeared to be interesting at first, but then fizzled.
Saw V for Vendetta. Why have I not seen this movie before? I thought it was awesome. Makes me want to read the graphic novel now. Now I also understand while all the protesters wear those masks!
The great and powerful OZ. I'm so glad Disney decided to do a prequel instead of a remake. I'm pretty sure 30 years from now someone will be like "oh man this movie syncs exactly with lil wayne's album". I give it a 4/5.
The quick and the dead....favorite western movie. 1995.
Back to back Sam Rami Posts....anyways
Hot tub time machine: Critics said it was horrible, but I enjoyed it. Pretty good comedy, and it was pretty accurate on recreating the 80's. 3.5/5
21 and over. Seemed like a good movie for the first 20 minutes or so, and then there was soooo much man skin shown. If I would have been dumb enough to pay for this, I would have walked out. Seriously, I think the three stars walked around naked for a third of the movie. -infinity/5
'Red Eye' Trailer HD - YouTube
Love this movie, never underestimate a woman even if you know her personal life....some things you don't know are hidden in secret! 5/5 for me!
I can see myself like this woman when it comes to danger. I would watch this 10 times!
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
S'good. I think I like this Khan better. Also, the special effects were ASTOUNDING.
