Well, all in all, it was just really confusing. I didn't understand what was happening near the end, or why the protagonist did what he did... Stuff like that.

I thought that it sounded good, but had in my head that I probably wouldn't like it. It turns out, I enjoyed the movie very much and can't wait to rent it and watch it again. Actually, it might be a 'must have' movie in our house.

I watched The Blind Side today, I just finished it an hour ago!

      I LOVED it.

      Gangster Exchange

This was the best movie I've seen in a really long time. It's about a bunch of gangsters fighting over a toilet made of heroin. I can't recommend it enough.

My expectations for Kick Ass were far exceeded. I thought I'd be watching another cheesy comedy flick, but this one left me laughing pretty goddamned hard most of the way through. A foul mouth, murderous little girl who gets her first piece of action in the film in a kill scene to an upbeat "la la la" song (Banana Split by The Dickies) hit the center of my sense of humour so hard that I can probably use that scene alone as what defines my sense of humour. Little girl, murder, and comedy go together hand in hand in hand. On top of that the characters were believable, and Nicholas Cage finally starred in a role that I liked. The opening sequence was well done with a scene that had a predictable outcome but was hilarious in its execution nonetheless. The plot isn't super in depth, but it delivers in the comedy department excellently.

What was unfortunate was the advertising before the movie released. The original trailer did (in my opinion) a good job of showing some of the funny, but the commercial advertisements looked thrown together. For that I was skeptical, and so I'd understand if others are skeptical as well. I wasn't expecting the R rating either.

      That said, I'd recommend it.

Kick-ass. It pretty much sold out everything the comic was about to make a ridiculously over-the-top action movie and to make Big Daddy and Hit Girl less scary and more sympathetic, but for having chosen to go in that direction, it pulled it off pretty well. I actually liked the movie a lot better once it headed off into gadget-splodey land. It's kind of sad that the little girl pulled off the guttermouth shtick better than the mob boss.

Spoiler for spoilers for movie + comic:

      Seen a few....

      Kick-Ass was just that!

The Killing Room was sort of this psychological copycat of Saw but much more on the psychological side than on gore - pretty good...

Saw Blindside last night - I liked it, maybe it was the mood I was in, it would of been a much better movie if it wasn't for the really annoying little brother character. Great true story though.

Boyfriend just bought Avatar, so I'll see how I like it away from the 3D Imax experience...

Not the best, not the worst certainly. Good audio but over the top action scenes
The ending was great, I'm not sure how to make the special 'spoiler thing so I'll just come out and say it.
In the ending, it turns out that -snip- and when he -snippedy- so then he -snip- and the twist turned out to be -snip-

Days of Heaven. This is the second Terrence Malick film I've seen after The New World, so I knew pretty much what to expect going into it: pretty images, slow pace, and minimal plot. If you just let your eyes absorb the imagery, it becomes an entrancing experience that really gives you a good understanding of the time and place. However, it can become dull after a while, and at only an hour and a half long, it can seem much longer. 6.5/10

The men who stare at goats, too political and philosophical for my taste, the only funny part is the tin mug. But the cast was awesome.5/10.
The shining, wasn't scary, just creepy but very interesting and kept me interested throughout the entire movie. 8/10.
Ninja Assassin, decent movie, i wonder how many gallons of blood they put into a single stab lol. 7.5/10
The fourth kind, creepy as fuck!!! Did you see the chick's face, damn that crept me out. But the said real footage are not real though, good movie nevertheless. 7/10.

Avatar - I wasn't hyped up over this at all, and wasn't planning on seeing it, but I did. I liked it, but it wasn't spectacular.

Kick Ass - Wanted to see this, and I saw it today. Good movie, worth the watch. Really liked Hit Girl and Big Daddy.

Contact - Enjoyed it, worth the watch.

K-PAX - Was interesting, very much worth the watch, enjoyed it. Kevin Spacey's acting was good. I suppose to some it might seem to drag on, but I found that it pulled me in and left me urging to know what happened with Spacey's character. Liked the psychology around it.

Watched Starship Troopers on Hulu last night--better than I remembered. I think I missed a lot of the dark comedy when I saw it as a teenager.

The Back Up Plan - I was expecting more funny. J Lo sucks at acting in this movie. Her voice annoyed me. Ok movie, if you're really bored and there isn't anything else to do.

From Beyond, an '80s Lovecraft adaptation by the director of Reanimator (which I haven't seen). Definitely worthwhile for anyone who's into Lovecraft and/or body horror (grotesque transformations), even though continuity broke down quite a bit toward the end.

I just got through watching "Fantastic Planet". It's a sort of retro 70's animation that is done very artistically. There are all kinds of strange Dr. suess like alien creatures, but way more twisted. If you're looking for something strange and surreal, you can find the whole thing on youtube. Definitely one of my favs.

Snatch - pretty insane movie, I'd give it around a 7/10. Just not my genre.

Just saw it this past winter--excellent movie. As with any foreign film, it will be better subbed, not dubbed. It's also gorgeous; if you've only seen it on Youtube, you're not getting the full effect.
