I Don't Know About S. Darko...

Yeah, I realize that there are alot of things that seem to need explaining in Donnie Darko. That there are apperant 'plot holes.' But isn't that half the point? Lying up awake for an hour or two thinking and analyzing the film? I don't know. I don't want more explanation of what happened during Donnie Darko. It just seems like a dumb cult film to make a movie sequel to... Agree or disagree?

Wow the sequel looks like shit. it will butcher the whole concept of the first movie. Actually the first one made sense. When Donnie left his room he entered the Tangent Universe, which opened when the jet engine fell on his room. Now he was supposed to die in that room, but beause he didn't he opened up The tangent universe: A 4 dimensional universe which eventually collapses on itself in aprrox the time that Fank gives him. Throughout the movie he percieves more, because he is in the 4th dimension. This leads him to all the clues to being in the tangent universe. At the end the tangent universe begins to collapse on itself - pulling the jet engine from the plane through a vortex into the regular universe. Donnie goes back through the vortex and completes the cycle by dying in his room when the engine crashes down.

What I didn't really understand about the first movie was that the guy in the bunny suite caused the whole mess in the first place. He started it, yet he couldn't have started it unless it was already started. The interesting thing about S. Darko is that the living receiver is actually not the main character. Well, actually, there are two receivers. One of the receivers didn't really need to be a receiver, since the original receiver closes the system which stops that person from being one. At least I think. I didn't pay very close attention to it.
