First (owned) Xbox360 game I played, was fun fun fun, and continues to be fun fun fun as I replay and kick ass in mercenary mode.

I found it very hard to beat the game in veteran, especially in the chapter where you have to gun down a giant zombie with the truck and he keeps throwing rocks and those annoying bowgun zombies kept blowing the truck up

I still haven't played it... But it is enough to make me buy a XBox 360... God, it looks amazing.

Good game, but am I the only person who liked the games before R4 much better than the two newer ones? Resident Evil 2 is probably my favorite game of all time, and the new ones, though good, just don't seem like Resident Evil to me. The series has turned into an action/shooter. It just seems there are plenty of those around already. I miss the old school games! RE5 didn't make me "jump" in fear one time. That was a little disappointing, but other than that, it was a good action game. Best thing, by far, is co-op! That is the best addition to an RE game, yet!

I've not played it but it looks a step up from RE4. I defiently want to play it.

Anyone want to do CO-OP with me when I get it?

i played co-op at my friend's house. I must say, for my first time playing a resident evil game, it was a bit difficult to get used to the over-the-shoulder camera view, and how you can't run and shoot was annoying, but other than that it was fairly fun.

Well if you remember you couldn't shoot and run in any resident evil, so thats expected...the shoulder view is better then the old ones, sure I miss the camera angles and not knowing whats around the corner but re5 would of sucked with the old-school style of play.

Yeah I beat it first on Amaetur then me and my buddy beat Veteran and Professional mode together.

Veteran was actually a breeze when you have two people with unlimited ammo.

Also got 1000 gamerscore in it. It was fun. Probably won't play it again for a while, but definitley will eventually.

a Breeze? what about the whole Savannah truck part and the giant golem looking monster you have to kill by truck, he keeps throwing those damn rocks at me and theres only 1 barrel to explode to stop him from that, on vet it took me like 19 tries to kill him with another player

      That part was a joke.

As soon as he picks up the rock you start shooting the actual rock, you know that right?

I completely agree with everything you said. Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3 (anything to do with Raccoon City or the Umbrella Mansion) were incredible. The horror aspects were unmatched, and remain unmatched by any other zombie horror game out there. I won't even regard a zombie as a zombie unless it has completely white eyes... I mean, that's such an awesome undead trait.

RE5 didn't make me jump out once either, and was too fast paced for me to consider it a Resident Evil game. The plot was pretty awesome but still, it's degenerated into an action/shooter...

Oh I shoot the rock, it cracks and hits the truck taking like 1/4 of total health away and those annoying zombies on the sides shooting are a pain, I find it hard to aim in the game for some reason, I'd rather a crosshair then a laser my colorblind eyes can barely spot, I wish more games supported colorblind crosshairs like left for dead

Need to shoot it the tiniest bit earlier.

I do though, I shoot that rock like no tomorrow and I still get damaged.

Maybe im doomed for failure, either way after that part of the game the rest is a breeze, ive nearly memorized the locations of all enemies and stuff, after a while it becomes almost too easy.

Thats one complaint I have about RE5, enemy placement is as predictable as can be.

I noticed that people who like RE3 and below tend to not like RE4 and 5, and that's completely understandable.

I myself was not very interested in the old resident evils, but when 4 came out, I had a blast playing it. 5 was every bit as entertaining for me, since I like shooter games in general.

I still did some recap to get the story of the old resident evils, though, so I'll know what's going on in the newer games

Well i like the Resident Evil 4 , didnt played 5 but they are same style. But they are nowhere to compare with RE 1 ,2 , 3 etc
Older REs had they attractive game play style , storyline , atmosphere .
