Thread: What is the greatest ever name for a band?

A friend told me about this one band name he made up (could be real) and it was pretty hilarious.

Wished I remembered what it was.

I've always like Toad the Wet Sprocket as a band name.

There is a local band here called Chubby and the West Street Blues Band...The lead singer is 'chubby' to speak nicely.

Two words:

Butthole Surfers

Van Halen is a pretty cool name. Eddie and Alex were lucky to have been born with such a sweet name.

That used to be a band, seriously. It was made by some rich guy who put some good musicians together and let them make psychedelic music. xD

Awful music, great name.

Big Bill and the Wobblies:
One of my personal ideas.

Mimsy and the Borogoves:
I think this is a band. Either that or "Brillig and the Slithy Toves". I think "Bandersnatch" is also a band.

The Fourth Reich:
Neo-Nazi band I plan to form with some Aryan-looking friends. (Not really, but it's still a cool name.)

Furious George:
Part of the very long name of the experimental act formed by myself and a friend. The full name is "Furious George and the Purple Filth Experiment" and the two albums we're building are called "Sex Fantasies of a Teenaged Platypus" and "Scarlet".

Dave Barry also made a list of names he thought up, pretty good stuff.

Emily McHale:
Local band who recently broke up. They were named after a girl who happened to be in the room when they formed. I was their manager/biggest fan and I was scheduled to join them on ukulele after their next outdoor "tour". There were two drummers, neither of whom had musical experience, and a singer/guitarist who could improvise some pretty funny (and insulting) lyrics. So they made it all up as they went along. I bought their EP. Eventually, the asshole guitarist drove away the drummers and they formed a normal band, which sucks. The band, that is, not the fact that they are normal. Actually, in retrospect, the new band sucked, and it sucked that they became normal.

Haha, my stepdads band name is the Bastardcats, or the Fatherless Pussies as my mom calls them. Manowar is a good one, there used to be alot of them i could remember but i forgot.
