cool, im going to need to buy some microsoft points first though. then i can download it from the marketplace.
Indeed, I would recommend this game. It's got an awesome sense of humour (for a game).
how does it have a sense of humour?
oh and by the way, ive added to my signiture a new goal for lucid dreaming, its to use the portal gun. i would love to use that gun in real life, but lets face it, thats never going to be made so ill leave it to my dreams.
It's really really short.
But it's also one of the best games I've ever played, even though it might be boring to me now.
I'd buy the orange box it's more for less money.
whats orange box?
It's only less money if you also want to buy TF2 and don't have Episode 2 separately.
I say definitely get Portal (or, if you like Half-Life and have the money, Orange Box).
I just bought portal for $10 - best $10 I ever spent on a game. Definitely buy.
And for those who think it's short - go download the custom mods - there's a shitload of maps to be played. The story is just cut..

right, thanks, next time i get the chance, ill get it, wether it from marketplace on xbox, or i buy it for pc
JET73L, the makers specifically meant for there to be custom mods and such.
If you're into online games, Team Fortress 2 is also worth the money. So if you don't have Half-Life 2 or Episode one or Episode two, I'd definitely buy the orange box. If you've already got those, then I'd buy them separately. Valve also offers a Garry's mod and TF2 bundle off steam.
No, I'm fairly certain the designers encourage it:

yea mods arent illegal, they are just add ons
and black eagle i dont really want those games that much, just portal, i like most games which have even the slightest bit to do with super powers, wether its something which is used for the super power (e.g. portal, iron man etc.) or if its something like spiderman etc. so, i was going to make a new thread, but thats pointless, can any of you reccomend a game to this description?
Second Sight. That game is a bit dated now, but when I played it 2-3 years ago, it was so much fun. If I see it again, I'll pick it up, it's only like 10 bucks now. You have like telekinesis powers, so you can pick people up and toss them around and stuff, as well as moving objects like making a bowling ball fall off of a shelf and knock a guy on the head. The game was hilarious and fun when I played it.
Also, addressing Orange Box, it is a really good deal, even if you don't think you want those games, I think you'd enjoy them. In Half Life 2, you have the gravity gun, which lets you throw shit around, so it's kind of like a super power. It was a really great series, and you also get TF2 with it, which is another great game. Essentially, it's five games for the price of one. Definitely worth it. You'll pay an extra 15-20 bucks for it, and you'll get 4 more games than if you just bought Portal alone. I definitely recommend it.
Other super hero-ish games, Black and White. It's for PC only, but you play as a God, and you have freedom to do whatever you want, pick villagers up and roll them off a mountain, light some jerks house on fire if he doesn't believe you, get your giant creature to take a shit on someone, throw flaming trees at people, drop boulders on peoples houses. Sweet game. I found the first one much better than the second one though.
thanks, but is orange box sold in britain? and same with black and white, that sounds like my cup of tea
Should be. Black and White is made by Lionhead Studios, who operate in the UK I believe. Not so sure about Orange Box, but I'm sure you could find it. Black and White may be a little hard to find, you're probably only going to find it at a boutiques store, like EB Games or GameStop because it's a little older.
Black and White's alright. Fairly enjoyable in fact. Controlling your creature is a pain in the ass at times though.
And yes, the Orange Box is sold in the UK.
awsome, thanks guys
If you're looking for crazy super-hero games, I'd recommend looking out for a game called Prototype and another called Infamous. Prototype is one I learned about today and have very high hopes for.
Slash, you haven't played Half-Life 2 yet? Do you in general like FPS games?
