Reading Porno by Irvine Welsh. I don't really like it much. As a companion to Tspotting, I find Skagboys far superior. The characters feel much too old in this sequel. It makes me feel uncomfortable and horribly aware of my own mortality. Maybe that's the point, but I think that'd be giving Mister Welsh a bit too much credit. |

last thing I've read was World War Z by Max Brooks it was kind of boring to me..... now I am not reading anything |
|
Last book I've read was Inferno by Dan Brown. I loved it. |

I like destruction and reality, and one invariably leads to the other.

Currently reading through Blackveil the 4th book in the Green Rider series. I have to say, that while sometimes the author's writing is standard or overly dramatic, and I sometimes don't understand her humor, I love this series. I impatiently await the 5th book which is due out in May 2014. |

I'm reading Ella Minnow Pea (yes, that's a pun) for school. |

I've been reading the Silos series by Hugh Howey: Wool, Shift, and now I'm on Dust. It's a really interesting world: post-apocalyptic bunkers with careful, cold-blooded social engineering in place to keep people from tearing each other apart or busting out prematurely into the deadly wastes. The characters in the first book were great, but the second book dragged a bit. There was still a lot of interesting material, but less sympathetic characters, and a large chunk of it was backstory on one relatively minor character who, IMO, was no more fleshed out for all the details provided. The third book is better, introducing the good characters from book one to all the stuff we learned in book two. |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
Working on Poison Study. It's one of those books that I always saw at the library and couldn't decide if I really wanted to read it. The world is interesting, I suppose, but I can't see myself wanting to revisit it. |

Ella Minnow Pea was better than I expected. I recommend it. It's approx. 200 pages, but it's written as a series of letters, so many pages contain less that 1/2 a page of text, so it's a rather short read. |
