Thread: Heroes, Volume 4: "Fugitives"

I like Sylar because he's not really such a terrible guy. Like I could totally brawl it out with him, then buy him a drink. I really like how he's not a clichéd 'bad guy' in the sense that he has no illusions of taking over the world, or deluding himself into thinking he's right because he's God-like. He just really doesn't give a shit. He's looking for answers, and is paranoid of people lying to him, and has no tolerance for bullshit. But sometimes he does badass evil stuff just for the sheer fun of it. He can be extremely blunt, or subtly sly and scheming, and he likes a level playing field.

In short, he's a —ing awesome character.

I was thinking that last week. It reminds me of a line from The Hunt for Red October: "Russians don't take a dump without a plan." He's kind of the same way. I find Angela to be the same way to a degree. *thinks on that*

I wonder if Daphne's dead. Now I'm just writing people off as "They might come back..." instead of "Oh no, they're dead!" I'm interested to see just how angry Matt gets, though. Could be interesting.

Made me want to see the next episode.

Poor Matt, though.. that kind of sucks.

I hope it won't affect is charackter too much.

I'm not finished watching yet, but Sylar seems like a loser now. So full of himself. Smiling like a loser when he does the stuff he does. What a tool. Freaking daddy issues. That character is so lame. And for that matter...so are all people who gain some kind of god complex when they hold a gun.


I do understand why they did what they did with Peter's powers...but eh, it seems like the same thing they do to classes in mmos when they are too powerful. I've never been in favor of nerfs.

I liked Peter's character so far (that is, 1 episode). He's better with his powers back

On the Elle overloading: Elle did get pain, but she did not kill herself. That amount of electricity would have hurt anyone but those with powers. Anyway...

I have a theory on Peter's powers. First it seemed he could use anyone's abilities he encountered. But now he can only hold one at a time, and only through touch.

I think he's only ever had the ability to hold one at a time, it's just that the first one he picked up was the ability to learn several, which he had been using ever since. Something he might have copied from Arthur.

That's a damn good theory.

But he could only use powers once he thought about the person or so, he was never thinking about Arthur when he took the powers from others. And i think arthur would have noticed if peter had taken his power (hes observant) since peter has the hand glow.

Nice theory, we'll see how it ends.
I just finished watching episode 15. It was okish, but the usual big cliffhanger wasn't really there. Shame.

Not to be all blurf about this but Peter Arthur and Sylar all have the same power. Also I imagine these writers only did what they did to Peter in order to candor to the way the audience felt that super powered characters like him suck. If they intended for his power to have always been like that I would be amazingly surprised.

Apparently their power of empathic mimicry is dependant about their personality. Sylar apparently has his manifest as eating brains (j/k), Peter used to have it as simply knowing people meanwhile Arthur just steals it.

Sylar once was able to use his powers the same way Peter used to be able to, but then was like no thanks.

If this new power is the same power he always had then it might be his personality that is affecting it.

Or it could simply be a power like matts where you have to have your power evolve over time. I think matt used to only be able to read minds, then one day blam he could control people.

And now he can draw the future. When he started doing that, I was like WDF O.o

But you've got a point, and you could well be right about it.
I still don't understand why they kept Sylar overpowered and made Peter all weakling.

Yeah, I hate nerfs. I think that they could quite possibly say that Peters old power was taken from his father, or they could say he simply recieved a new power, etc. They could explain it a number of ways.

Rather than letting other characters use their powers better, they just completely nerfed Peter.

Exactly. They shouldn't have. With his awesome powers he had a reason to be all "I've to save the world", but now he hasn't got a reason.

I don't like Hiro without powers either >.<

Meanwhile. Did anyone else think that whole "I'm going to kill Hiro in the future so that means he has to be alive." thing to be retarded? From the episode before the one airing right now.

I would really like to see Peter get his old power back, the show was much better when you have a really powerful good guy and bad guy.

I agree, Eonnn. Or have his power be like his father's, but he didn't take the entire power away from them.

Apparently she is sort of dead. She died a while back but got sucked into a computer after death. After that she was deleted but said that she would meet some guy named druker again.

If Micah is rebel, Heroes would become epic awesomeness

Hana just died, but her spirit is free to roam the interwebs. (Drucker is the guy who invented the actual thing btw)

I like it so far, but at the scene where Matt paints Washinton exploding I was like "no way, again???"
I mean, did they run out of inspiration again? There have to be worse things possible besides exploding cities...

I hope it is micah...but I don't even know where micah is right now...I have lost track of him.
