This remake is long overdue. I love the original and I just hope this one does it justice. In which it should considering where we are with technology in the movie making industry. This one is definately a must see. December 12, 2008

(1951 movies compared to todays movies and special effects.) You serious? The script is the only thing that has a chance, but regarding visual effects. psst... forget about it.

The greatness that is "The Day" relied heavily on character and dialogue. Sure the ship looked like crap and Gort was lackluster to say the least, but the only way VFX could make a better movie is if they digitally added a kickass new ship to the original film. There is also no way Keanu Reeves could do as brilliant a job as Michael Rennie as Klaatu. Maybe I'm going into it with an air of cynicism... but I'm just abso-fucking-lutley sick of unnecessary remakes.
