      LOL...That's funny.

I've been looking forward to the Track & Field events, I love the sprints and the marathon races. I was watching the quater-finals for the Men's 100 a few minutes ago and that Jamaican guy Usain Bolt is so fast it's scary! He ran 9.92 to qualify like it was a walk in the park, it was unbelieveable. This guys is going to give Tyson Gay a very hard time in the finals.

The 100m final was pretty cool. Bolt saw he was miles ahead and just enjoyed the last few metres.

Also good job GB in the rowing and cycling. Those are the only two things we're consistently good in. Quite a spectacular comeback in the rowing, and just miles ahead in the cycling.

Michael Phelps is pretty much not human. Did anyone catch his 7th race? WOW. I thought for sure he'd get silver, but he beat whoever-it-was by 1/100th of a second!!! PURE LUCK.

Gonna catch his final swim at about 11ET. *crosses fingers* I can't believe how consistent he's been... but he has had a couple of REALLY CLOSE CALLS.

Far too many medals on offer for swimming, though. It would be impossible to emulate on say the track or the field because the events are more varied and the medals scarcer.

We've been talking about that over here as well. What chance does a poor shot-putter have at multiple medals?

Meh, that's just how the events are designed. Swimming has more events because you can swim several different lengths and use several different strokes. And far from every swimmer participates in more than one or two of them anyway. That's part of the reason Phelps is such an amazing athlete - he had the stamina to do this and the skill to qualify for all. I guess it's not so much the number of his metals as how he won them - how much effort went into this. It's truly impressive from an athlete's point of view, anyway.

Yes this guy is like a 'Superman' or something. I've watched all of his events and it's like he was becoming more and more impressive with each event. That 7th event was like a miracle for him, but you can't count out the other guys on his team. He wouldn't have made 8 medals without the other guys. His mother is truely a sweet lady also, you can just see by her demeanor that she's a typical Mom I just hope that he keeps the drive and continue to become even greater and set the bar even higher. This guy is really set for life, can you even imagine all the endorsements he's going to get Also I wonder if there is a single sunday newspaper in the U.S. that doesn't have him on the front page.

Yeah about his mom... I wonder if she's ever pushed her kids too far or has too high expectations. I say this because yesterday I learned that Phelp's two sisters are also swimmers. One of them swam to qualify for the Olympics but finished 6th, and apparently this destroyed the family! It makes me nervous to see a parent that heart-broken over a swimming competition, as if that's the most important thing to them.

That is too bad that their family is too competitive. Too much pressure on the kids, I also would have felt bad for that gymnastic woman if she lost, the girl who played with the USA but is a Russian I don't know how to spell her name. Her dad said that if she got 2nd place is the worst place you can get.

I should enter in a new rule into the olympics, men must wear tighter shorts

Nah I don't think Phelps is sexy. I did watch the part live when he won his 7th gold medal by 1/100 of a second though. I was very shocked.

One Olympic people who I think is sexy though is Monica Abbott. She's hot.

Wow The Jamaicans has the fastest man and the fastest woman in the world. I was really rooting for that one runner from the U.S. Muna Lee I just knew she was going to take first place in the womens 100m. but I was once again dissappointed just like Tyson Gay dissappointed me.

Oh, and that Chinese guy who holds the world record in the 100m hurdles did not even run! He just walked off the field because he was in so muc pain. I bet the people of China are extremely dissappointed, but the guy did look like he was in bad shape.

      Haha.. his head?

He does have weird proportions, but apparently they're ideal for a swimmer.

maybe perhaps they should have replaced him before the olympics with a 13 year old?

No one is paying attention to little old Britain! We've got the most medals we've had for like a century.
