I watched some of the Chinese(?) show with the guys carrying those paddle things that had ships painted on them.

Yeah!! I mean I try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but come on... Some of them look no older than 11.

Gymnastics has been having a lot of surprise falls and other mistakes.

sweet, I watch NBC HD to see it which is probably the same thing...looks sweet doesn't it?

I don't like sports but, for some reason HD olympics has more of an appeal but I do find myself falling asleep alot watching them lol...

Anyone see the Daily Show on the Olympics? Man that was funny! Especially when he saw the ugly girl. He had a good point though. It's bad when you're government gets together and decides you're not cute.

LOOLLL that was SO funny!! The Daily Show always cracks me up one way or another though. Hehehe.

how old are they supposed to be? 16 and over? because right now china has a girl on the gymnastics team that last year was only 13 years old, so she'd either still be 13 now or 14.

You have to be 16 years or older.. supposedly verified via birth certificates and/or passports (cuz we all know those can't be faked).

well, it was proven today then that china is cheating because that one girl "He Xai" or whatever her name is, she's only 13 or 14 now. i'll look for the story over it and edit the post to show it.

i've only posted the first two paragraphs, because it clearly states the evidence. she hasn't even turned 14 yet because it said november 3rd of last year she was 13 so she has a few more months before she even turns 14. but if you want to see the entire story i hyperlinked it above.

It gave her age as 13 and reported that she beat Yang Yilin on the uneven bars at those games. In the final, “this little girl” pulled off a difficult release move on the bars known as the Li Na, named for another Chinese gymnast, Xinhua said in the report, which appeared on one of its Web sites, www.hb.xinhuanet.com

China has already lied quite a few times.

i don't like how all the "reporters" or whatever you want to call the people covering the olympics on tv are kissing their ass. last night in synchronized diving the american (i think) team didn't go into the water synchronized, one of the legs was straight the other was at a curve, later on china came up and did the same jump as some other team had just done and went into the water unsynchronized just as bad as the american's did and the woman was like "china has such good synchronization" while just a few minutes prior she was dogging on the U.S. team about failing at synchronization.

Ah yeah I know what you're talking about. Although their routine was much better than the Americans'... they just messed up at the end, and yeah, pretty much no one cared.

And... okay... sooooo... Are they going to let them keep the medal?? This is ridiculous. This is really really scandalous. If they let them keep their medal, then I say all the rules might as well go out the window. What would be the point in keeping them then?

Are any of these 13 year olds participating in tonight's all-around event, anyone know?

Don't know.. but I'm flipping back and forth between the Olympics and other stuff so I'll catch some of it. It will be interesting to see if the 13/14 year old does participate and, if so, how well she does with all the world scrutinizing/doubting her now.

i don't know about tonight but apparently that 13 year old girl was a key to china winning this week, they shouldn't be allowed to keep their medals, china should be disqualified from the entire olympics for allowing underage kids into the games and they should have some type of fine to pay as far as i'm concerned.

seriously it's not hard to look at some of these kids and tell that they're underage, some of then don't even look 10 years old to me.

They definitely should be disqualified. They are taking these games so seriously... and the disqualification would shame the nation enough so that they would never repeat something like this again. I am so disappointed right now. What an empty win for them...

true, if i was the "olympic committee" or whatever i'd go so far as to ban them from future olympic games for a set amount of time, just to make sure their shame runs deep.

It's fun to think of ways to shame China. We could dangle them upside down from the Great Wall.

I saw the gymnastics where those Chinese girls won. I didn't realise that they had to be 16 years old, but i was sitting there thinking to myself "damn, these girls are pretty good for 11 year olds"

Honestly, you'd have to be completely blind to see that pretty much all of them are NOT 16 years old. It makes a mockery of the Olympics as much as drug cheating does, and it needs to be addressed.
