      Cartoons

Do any of you guys still watch cartoons? It seems the glory days of cartoons is over. I miss when Spiderman, Batman, Tranformers, X-Men and Bugs Bunny and Tweety roamed the Earth. The newer versions of Batman and Spiderman failed to be even near their predecessors imo.

Now the only cartoons I can stand in recent times are Avatar, Justice League, and X-men evolution (although all three of these series seem to be over now).

What do you guys think? It seems a lot of people here are into anime instead, which is way better (on average) then new cartoons.
Maybe, just for a second, you'll be awestruck.
      ...do you feel it to?

I love the classic Nicktoons they had on in the 90s and early 2000s.

It's probably just me getting older, but what's on Nick today sucks.

I love the classic Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons; I especially like watching the ones that were made during WWII and aren't in normal distribution anymore.

Rocko's Modern Life was funny, and it had a lot of subtle innuendos and other tidbits that somehow seemed to get past the censors.

I'm also a great fan of anime and manga, too.

What I love about animation is that it is capable of depicting the real world far better than live-action, in my opinion, because it is so plastic a medium. Cartoons make you think, which is a neccessary part of my personality, being so dependant upon creative and logical thought as a computer programmer and all-around nerd.

I scoff at those who say cartoons are for kids.

Cartoon Network just got rid of all the great shows, and never even finished some of the series like Zoids. They now have all these crappy shows that should only be showed at 6:00 in the morning for kids.

And now Adult Swim is going back to their old shows. I can atleast watch Cowboy Bebop again...

I'm easily amused, so I still enjoy some cartoons and find them quite amusing. I've always loved The Faily Oddparents, and I also enjoy Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and a few others I can't think of right now. I haven't watched a lot of TV, though, so if there are new episodes, I haven't seen them.

      I do love anime.
