      In the ending in the book he kills himself to prevent himself from being publicly executed by the vampires(A group of them can think rationally), who see him as a sort of boogeyman.

      The title makes much more sense that way.

      This ending didn't make sense either. If the zombies are that human, then surely they simply are humans, but bigger and better and faster. Admittedly the real ending made even less sense, but there must be a better alternative.
