The Song that should've been a single instead of a latter.

The title says it all. What are the songs in your mind you would want it to be a single but instead something else was chosen out of the album?

In my opinion, the first thing that comes to my mind is the album 'Hypnotize' by System of a Down. They chose Lonely day and I don't know what else for a sngle but I thought Dreaming and Tentative could've been awesome.

In Rust In Peace, they should've also chosen Tornado of Souls.

A lot of the Beatles' best songs were never singles, like "You Won't See Me" and "She Said She Said".

"Washing the World Away", "Drown You Out", "Why", "Breathing Slowly", and/or "Already Gone" by Crossfade should've been singles instead of "Invincible"

Why should anyone care if a song is a single or not?

Because some shouldn't have been singles in the first place.

In my opinion, singles define how well a singer or band is going to do in their musical career. If they put out a bad song, they're probably not going to get the popularity they want. If they put out a great song, then they'll go sky high in the music biz. But whether the song is good or bad depends on the person listening.

I don't know about clear channel, but MTV SUCKS. All they play now are reruns and new episodes of I Love New York and Flavor of Love.....

My point is, don't rely on mainstreem media, like radio and MTV (the only places where a "single" would matter), to bring you good music.

How would you find a new music yourself if there was no internet, if you don't rely on a mainstream?

I think you have to listen to one song to decide to see if the artist makes the style of music you like. That's how I got into the music I like today by the power of internet.

Last time I checked, VH1 did not have the crap shows I mentioned. And they don't have as many crappy raps songs as MTV. Let's face it, MTV has gone downhill.

Underenigma, you made a good point about listening to see if you like the song. I think that's how I stumbled upon some of the songs I listen to.

Sorry Snowy, UM's right. That is basically all VH1 plays. However I have to agree that they are absolutely terrible programs.

When I'm president I'm gonna buy MTV and round up all the bands you love to hate ala, nickelback, slipnot, papa roach, fred durst, britney spears and the like and kill them all on live television in a running man type game.
