I love Yahtzee.
Didn't think his GDC appearance was as funny as his usual reviews though.
But the hand shooting bees comment was gold.

Agreed. Thats pretty much the only part that made me laugh, otherwise it just seemed rushed, and very rushed at that. Too much to cram in, too little time.

Since when did they censor him.

They don't, I assume its just that its his style of video for the GDC. I don't suspect we'll be seeing more cencoring on his regular reviews.

I thought Yahtzee's video was below-par. It didn't go into enough depth with each "short" compared to his usual reviews that leave you with a well-rounded picture of the game.

Definatly agree with you there, 4-5 minutes is great for one game, but when you go on talking about a number of different things, it got too rushed. Shame he couldnt of put more time into each of his "awards"

But still, below-par for Yahtzee is still pretty good. Although nothing will ever compare with the Bioshock review

I'm sceptical of Prototype. I get the feeling it's going to be bad. Partially because their character design is straight out of Assassin's Creed.

Maybe I missed the part where Altair picked up cars and threw them at foes. Or jumped over exploding things, flying from A to B. Or the part where he shapeshifted and ripped off an enemy's head. I haven't played it though...

Means to say: Only because two games incorporate a similar feature (freerunning), doesn't mean it's the same game.
I'm not too sure because of other things though. Graphics/physics/interactivity still seem a little 2003ish, but all footage is still early pre-alpha... the demos are from Summer 2007 and they pushed the release again from first Q2 to Q3, and now it's Q4. So they are adding quite a lot of things I should hope.

I'm not sure you read what I said correctly; the character design ie. what the character looks like, is pretty much the same as Assassin's Creed's Altair. I agree that the games are quite different, and that the powers ought to be a laugh, however the characters look identical. To prove my point:

Both of them look good enough to try out. I like the almost-fly jumping and nice graphics. Looks like GTA actually.

I thought that as well, what with the radar in the bottom right. Although with those powers it's probably more like Crackdown.

Oh wow, I hadnt heard about that game before GDC'08. looks pretty damn good from what I see! Although games like that can get old, aka. crackdown

Oh sorry, I thought you meant the character as a whole. Well, I agree. I found this quite odd as well. It's mostly just the hoodie though, but also some of the poses. Even if the game is in development for longer than AC has been announced, they could have still changed it, just so that people won't think exactly this. Just take off the damn hoodie (or at least give it a different color/texture) and it would already look quite different.

I don't know, I quite like the look.

If he proves to be a more memorable character than Altair then it won't really matter will it (although a black hoodie would be so awesome. I was playing Assassin's Creed and thought black robes for Altair would be a great unlockable).

I only just heard about this game from this thread and I did a little research on it. It sounds very promising and could be fun. I'm definately going to keep tabs on it, just hope it isn't all hype though.

GDC was quite disapointing, wasn't it?

Apart from Portal 2 confirmation, nothing to write home about.

Anyways, Alex D is right. Portal 2 was obvious though. Ever since 12 year olds everywhere started yelling "omg teh cake is a lie!" Portal 2 was a sure-fire happening.
