Does anyone here watch any Japanese Anime? I've been watching it non-stop for close to two years now. Some of my favs are: Tsubasa Chronicles, Elfen Lied, Full Metal Alchemist, Hunter X Hunter, Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, Shakugan no Shana, Ouran High School Host Club, Bleach, Fate/Stay Night and Air.

Elfen Lied is a big WTF.

I'm not going to mention my favorite anime, simply the anime that is superior to all others in my oh-so humble opinion.

Trigun (duh), Gungrave (the parts not based on the videogame), Samurai Champloo, Wolf's Rain (shut up nay-sayers), FLCL, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Bepop, some others

And my fav movies: Ninja Scroll, Akira, Metropolis, Most things made by Miyazaki, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bepop The Movie, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust... some others

I liked ones like Fullmetal alchemist but I thought it started to go down hill right around when they found their dad. I liked Ghost in the Shell but it's kinda slow.

I still have yet to see HellSing...my friends have recommended me to it but I never got around to watching it...

But does it have anything to do with Elfen Lied?

I read a review and it said that the military group that went after Lucy was called the HellSing so I figured it might have something to do with that show...I could just be going out on a branch though...

Hm. I've never seen Elfen Lied but if I had to guess I'd say there is no connection between that and the anime Hellsing. (Van Hellsing, maybe).

No, none at all.

Hellsing is about vampires, Elfen Lied is about gruesome violence.

I love Cow boy bebop, but they never play it any more...I can't ever find it where I live...

CowBoy Bebop was awesome. It was on Adult Swim awhile ago that I can remember...

I just can't believe Adult Swim actually thought about airing Elfen Lied on their show...
But they didn't because so much stuff would have to be cut and censorded.

It was on adult swim..But where did it go?

Now adult swim has stupid dhit like assy mcgee, and ect.

Some channels are really getting screwed up now and days.

Like G4, they have stupid shows now and less shows actually dealing with games. I remember when I would be happy to come home and turn on the TV after school to find a new episode of X-play coming on...now I have to wait till like 10:00 at night just for one episode...

But, in interest of keeping things on topic.

Cowboy BeBop is by far my favourite. Death Note was awesome, Elfin Lied was awesome, and another one I've really enjoyed is 12 Kingdoms. I got to episode 47 out of 50. I'm dying to figure out how it ends, though apparently its a cliffhanger waiting for another season according to the Manga community.

Not a big fan of DBZ lol. After it started taking them a full episode just to power-up, I gave up

Same with me and Naruto. I gave up because all they did was talk, and the battles were slow. They kept explaining what they did after they did it. Now that's not a true battle, when you clearly state to your enemy what you just did to them.

- Keroro Gunso (But manga is way much better than anime)
- Evangelion

Not dragonball z, just the original Dragonball without z added. Now that's awesome show. I'm not an avid fan of animes myself, but I like full metal alchemist and Berserk.

I didn't ever watch anime until I started dating my current girlfriend. Since then, I've gotten into Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Bleach. Can't believe I never liked it before. WTF??

Also if anyone hasn't checked out Claymore yet, it's a pretty decent anime.

lol Bleach is only up to 168 episodes so far, i like it to be honest. Someone else (i think on a different thread) compared it to DBZ, which i think is kind of an insult. I mean DBZ would drag on one fight for like 30 episodes, with bleach it's like a fight takes 1-2 episodes 3 at the max.

I wouldn't compare it to the 'epicness' of DBZ, but still, 1-2 episodes for a fight is too much. Not that I don't enjoy shonen or fighting, but dragging on WAY too long like that is annoying. FMA's fight scenes were barely 10 minutes at the longest (Lab 5 arc) and then they went back to story.

Story >> giant fight scenes. Also, it has to have some sort of goal in the end that it's going towards. I didn't see one in Bleach. At least Naruto finally got one after a while. DBZ had none. One Piece didn't seem to have one, either, though correct me if I'm wrong. To be honest, Host Club didn't have one at the start but it became evident after a while, especially in the manga.

What can I say? I like something well-written over bloody and blech.

ah bleach rocks!(and is by far the best) eureka 7 was nice to watch, full metal alchemst and wolf's rain were kinda sad but were totally awesome, hellsing, samurai champlo, and afro samurai all seemed to like killing, samuai 7 was cool, but one i think everyone should see is, "tek Janson" by the colbert report!
