So, apparently Iron Man is Marvel Studios' first production. That explains a lot about the quality of the movie. I hope this is foreshadowing of more good movies from Marvel, in the future.

Jeff Bridges did seem to phone it in a bit, which is sad for such a great actor, but RDJr and Gwyneth Paltrow both did a good job. I can't say the movie blew my mind--I know I felt more satisfied walking out of Transformers, which was clearly not a better movie. I guess the action scenes just didn't deliver as much of a punch in Iron Man, though they did a great job with characterization.

Saw it yesterday, and really thoroughly enjoyed it. I agree that there was less eye candy as far as action scenes go than say Transformers, but I don't necessarily think that a bad thing. Robert Downey Jr. is one of my favorite actors, and he did an amazing job of portraying Tony Stark. I definitely agree with you on that first spoiler, Taosaur. That whole section of the movie was awesome, reminded me of my daydreams when I was younger.

I never really knew anything about Iron Man before this movie, but now I'm definitely a fan. I'm actually excited about a sequel already.

It looks like they're putting out a spread of different heroes to set up an Avengers movie, so we might not see an Iron Man sequel for a while.

I agree with all of that. I believe that Transformers was a much greater action flick, but Iron Man was a better quality of movie. Kinda strange how that worked out, but I'm with you.

Definitely. I'd written the same thing on IMDb. Just that one shot was awesome. Just made you sit there and stare at the suit like ".....Whoa."

Agreed again. He did pretty well, up until the climax, where his appeal just kinda...bleh.

It should be pretty soon. It looks like they are going to be cranking these movies out pretty quickly. Sometime between 2010 and 2012, we should have the Ant Man, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man 2, and the Avengers movies out, according to the buzz on IMDb. I haven't checked the sources yet, but that seems to be the consensus.

Saw it yesterday, and ruddy enjoyed it. Very good film, and Downey Jr. was good in it. Some very humorous quips, too.

I LOVED it. It has re-watchability, for me anyways. I saw it the day before it actually came out in theaters. Loved it. Then, my dad and I took my mom to see it for Mother's day. Still loved it.
