      Toribash!

I've recently found this little gem of a game, and I thought I would share it with you:
      http://www.toribash.com/

Basically, you are a little man with joints which can relax, hold, extend, or contract. You can rotate around your character in three dimensions and change what each joint is doing, all while time is frozen. Once you're ready, your character moves for a given amount of time (this depends on the fighting style) before freezing again and letting you change what each joint is doing.

Why is this awesome? YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN FIGHT MOVES! There are very few things more satisfying than successfully completing a spin-kick which decapitates your opponent.

The single player is great for messing around and getting used to the interface, but the multiplayer is definitely the best. There are all sorts of little alterations on the basic fight, like sumo (can't touch the floor outside a small box, very heavy body parts), kickboxing (fragile body parts, no boundaries), and jousting (you start out flying towards each other), among others.

This game is very unique, and I find myself analyzing my movements during the day to try and come up with new combos to use in it (the physics are very good, as far as I can tell!).

Try it out and tell me what you think. My account name is thegnome54 on there, so fight me if you dare

Ooh! Replying to thread so as to add subscription so as to be reminded of this once I get back to college and my laptop (as opposed to this crappy PC at my parents' house).

Once you work out exactly what each joint does (the glutes are still a bit of a mystery to me), it gets much easier. I find that it also helps to imagine what you would do in the situation - often, there are two steps to an attack; a drawback and an approach. Sometimes you forget this when playing and just sort of extend things at the opponent, but it doesn't really work all that well.

Oh, one little trick - if you click on the hands, you can make them grab the opponent. This is useful for throwing people out of the rink or getting leverage for kicks, as well as making sure that you don't just fly apart after initial contact.

yeah, I just try to imagine what my own muscles would be doing for a piticular move and I check if it works. TRying to get the guy to do a back flip atm lol (contract the glutes, extend the hips!)

Glutes bend your legs forwards or backwards. I used to play it a while age. Never multiplayer though, is it free?

Multiplayer is free, yes. I think they've changed the control scheme since you played, though, because the hip joints control the forwards and backwards swing of your legs. The glutes seem to rotate your legs, allowing you to point your toes inwards or apart. It's just hard to get a good grasp on how they affect your overall angular motion.

Haha. This game is awesome (though a bit time-consuming, setting up the moves). I love the way the rag doll physics work. I'm just now getting the hang of it, but I've already done some pretty sick moves. Sometimes it's fun just to see what kind of smooth acrobatics you can do, without even worrying about the fighting.

I haven't tried the multiplayer yet, but I will. As of right now, though, I'm having fun just practicing. Heh.

Used to play hours on end for no reason at all.

      'Tis all in the knees.

I really suck at this game, but I agree, it is awesome. Tedious as it can be to adjust fifteen muscles every turn, correctly executing a move and watching your opponent's head fly off is very satisfying.
