I played the 10 day free trial and liked it, but it's just not worth $15/month, imo. A few of my friends play it, and it was cool to be able to play with them.
Raezsa - Lev. 56 Orc Warlock (affliction)
Did quit wow for about 6-8 months, but back into it now
I never played and never intend to, many of my friends are addicted to it and some don't even come out because they'd rather play it, i just don't wanna get addicted to it.
Sigilmir @ Stormrage, EU WoW.
Level 51 Draenei Paladin.
Level 37 Shadow priest... I'm taking a break lol. Why?= addiction
I only played WoW for a little while- but didnt like it.
I used to play SWG during the good ole days but quit when sony changed the game completely....:morecrying:
Then I played Vanguard during the beta, and loved it. I didnt play it again after because I had exams and did not want the addiction.
Now I dont want to pay for online games now lol, Id rather go out.
Just say no!
At 37 it doesn't get boring, it just gets a little harder. Also, ding, ding and ding again: 54.
I want to get into it, but alas, I have no money. :(
I have played it on and off. Right now, I'm playing on Karazhan (europe) PvP server, as a night-elf druid.
First, I started with hunters though, they are funny :)
AHHHH! WOW evil!!!!
Apparently WOW = the devil
http://www.wowdetox.com/
;)
I'd like to play it, but can't:
1. Bad computer
2. No money
3. I'd be a complete n00b
4. Addiction/Schoolwork
Also I've been working on getting one of those "lives" everyone's on about...
Dont worry too much about that, i hear they're overrated anyway.Quote:

When I first quit the symptoms were terrible (aversion to sunlight, lack of physical strength, and many social disorders), but I know with counseling you can push past these just as I did.
Seriously though, I had a 56 warrior and a 36 mage until I got bored and quit.
That's me, too--I play for social reasons.
I haven't been playing real long. And I only play a few times a week in the evenings. But I have a level 27 night elf druid. It would be a bit higher except that I played the first couple weeks on another account until I decided I liked playing enough to get my own.
And I feel that this is a good way to play. I never play alone. So I don't think I'll get too addicted--although I have found I do really look forward to playing...:D.
Does anyone know what's up with the European Armory? It hasn't been updated in days. :/ Usually it updates your character when you logout..
EDIT
Now it just "encounters an error" whenever you to go a character.
have a look on the wow forums, the "website & forum" section is full of reports like these

Ding 55.
Don't do that !!
Don't do what? Ding 55? I won't ever again. Not on this char. :D
the whole "ding" thing pisses me off....
when TBC came out, our guild-chat was swamped with dings every 5 minutes as people rolled and levelled Belfs
I've seen 5 million billion dudes play this game at the internet place that I go to in Russia and I really want to play it now.
I played on and off until the expansion. No way in hell im paying 15$ a month AND have to pay 50$ for the expansion.
First mc raid hmm 3 years ago i believe

Nearly 57. Meh.
I just want to get the fuck into Outland. Also, I FINALLY gathered my 30 Alterac Valley, Athari Basin and Warsong Gulch marks, so I can get my Black War Tiger epic mount.
http://wow.allakhazam.com/images/fas...artiger1yc.jpg
I bought The Burning Crusade, but quit before I ever really got to go to the Outlands. Arghh... 50 bucks wasted.
WoW is so gay. If you want the original mmorpg come join us on EQ. Pfft, freaking noob. I bet you think train was originated from WoW too, hahaha. Train was a term used while most of the WoW players (children) were still in diapers. (ok I know you probably don't think that, but I ran into a WoW player who was mmorpg daft, so now I hate all WoW players)http://everquest.station.sony.com/
btw, I was just kidding with the insults, joking and whatknot.
There are two kinds of mmorpg players, those who play (or play in conjunction with) Everquest, and those who do not.
Pfff... you kidding? Runescape is where it's at, n00b!
LEEERRROOOOOYYYYYy JENKINSs!!!!!!
Watch this, http://youtube.com/watch?v=hqKuvLBKLT4 and then tell me that Runescape doesn't roxors your boxors. :cooler:
Emo effect http://youtube.com/watch?v=Oh2vCHqSS...elated&search=
Lol like I said hehe nothing cheaper than something free. =P
EQ is da best and joo can't say anything moreabout it. People leave EQ and go to other games sometimes expecting it to be as great as when they began EQ, but nothing ever will be. EQ was, and is, the best MMO ever!
I wouldn't recommend starting out in EQ anymore though...around a year and a half ago new people stopped playing the game (because of that DAMN WOW) and it is increasingly hard to find noobs to the game to play with. I hate blizzard! Just because it is the newest game people assume WOW is the best one, but it is completely not. I will probably join a new MMORPG after I am done with college and have a stable job...that I can afford time with to play. Even though WOW came out 3 years ago, EQ was still able to get new players (due to good reviews from friends i'm sure).
What I will compromise to say is this.
EQ = the best game ever!
Runescape = the best game for broke asses ever!
WoW = the best game to start playing right now, especially if your low on time since leveling in the crap game is so easy.
im still addicted to starcraft...
Haha, I was joking about Runescape. I actually think Runscape blows chunks, but anyway I think I'm going to wait for Warhammer Online to come out. I hear that might be good.
I have a friend who can play for the better part of a day, but for me hard-core would be about 2 hours a day, and I don't even want to do that.
I play Guild Wars for the simple reason that it's free... I realise that WoW may be better but I don't care because my way I have money for other things :)
Besides, gw is a good game and pretty addictive - and you can MAP TRAVEL... that means clicking on the town that you want to get to and getting teleported there... saves a helluva lot of time :p Unfortunately we don't have mounts :(
Do they have running in WoW? That's one of my favourite aspects of gw.
Okay. I'm really confused. You have to pay some sort of monthly fee for WoW? What is that? And why doesn't Guild Wars have such a fee?
What's going ooooon, thanks. :D
Me wants WoW. :(
I think guild wars is free in the same sense that a lot of consol games are "online." You can only be around a limited amount of people at a time.
Better explaination... Guild wars is only online, it is not an MMO. WoW is online also, but isn't free because it actually is a MMO
MMO stands for massively multiplayer online (usually followed by role playing game, or RPG).
Oops i'm wrong hehe.
"A MMO designed by several team members from Blizzard's StarCraft, Warcraft, Diablo and the Battle.net® gaming network. Unique to Guild Wars is a skill-based gameplay system, a social world with each quest spawned uniquely for you and your group, and online play run through a special ArenaNet system to provide absolutely free MMO gameplay. "
This portion is what makes it free I think. "A social world with each quest spawned uniquely for you and your group."
Hard to explain why but if you are an MMO player you would understand hehe.
70 druid
70 warlock
70 paladin
70 shaman
65 priest
60 rogue
yee yee i pwn u
You need to be constantly connected to the internet to play this, yah? What if you weren't connected? Would it be the same thing minus all the thousands of people running around?
Haha, people actually play mmorpg's?
You can not play the game World of Warcraft, nor most other mmo's, without being online at the time you are playing.
It is their way of forcing you to pay for the subscription. Also their way of forcing people to interact! MMO's are no fun without other players.
However I wouldn't know about Guild wars if you likely to buy that, I haven't really looked into that game.
Hmm thread resurrection ftw.
Guild Wars is a MMO, but once you've bought the box with the game inside, then there are no subscriptions, although there are 3 campaigns and an expansion to keep everyone properly busy until GW2. The skill system is pretty different I believe to WoW:
You have a limited number of skill slots, only 8, meaning that you can take a maximum of 8 skills with which to fight with. Most of the fighting is done in teams. You can fight in a team with other players if you want, or with henchman (complete AI allies), and Heroes (you control their skill bars and actions).
Um, what else to say... max level is only lvl 20 - this is to prevent long hours of grinding, and make it mroe even. It's the skill bar and how you use it that really matters.
Prestige stuff: There's armor and there are titles. Each profession has a max armor - 60, 70 or 80. Max armor is pretty cheap, but you can then buy 15K armor (normal armor costs 5K) to show how Uber you are. There is also Vabbian and Obsidian armor, for which the materials required are expensive as well - for the properly 1337.
Titles is a great feature - once you've achieved certain things, you can display a title of your achievements. For instance, if you reach lvl 20 without dying, you're a survivor. That's 140,000 xp. If you get to 1,337,000 xp without dying, you're a ledgendary survivor. There are loooads of titles, so you'll have trouble getting bored.
Earlier in the thread I mentioned running. This is kind of cheating. It means using healing and speed boosts to run past enemies without killing them, so as to get to to a new town or area. Other people will pay you for doing this, and it's great fun. Does it exist in WoW?
:P Wtf is mapplestory??
Crap I really wish I had the time for WoW. Damn all these real life responsibilities. :P
Does guild wars intend to force you to use the internet though? That was the question I couldn't really answer for Mes T.
Maple story is the cutest damn thing ever. http://maplestory.nexon.net/
Ha! :D Omg! That is cute. I wonder how I managed to never come across that before.
If you find someone willing to do so (a friend or someone you pay or whatever), you can run with them through areas with mobs to new areas/towns. They will keep the mobs' aggro (ie attention) and/or kill them (usually in one hit) so you can just keep running through.
Also, ding 65. (I quit playing for like 3 months, but I'm back)
Yes, no Guild Wars without internet. Completely impossible.
But... 2D MMO? :| Not for me.
But  just saw that Assasain's Creed is coming out on PC soon. Might actually even give Guild Wars a rest and get this. Looks incredible.
lvl 40 24/5/2 Tauren Warrior on Kil'Jaeden, anyone else play Kil'Jaedan?
That game is horrible, as free MMO's always are. I keep telling you people it's all about the PSO, but you just won't have it.
For your convenience, I've compiled a list of MMO's which are pure crap:
- Ragnarok Online
- Fly For Fun (Flyff)
- Maple Story
- Tales of Pirates
- Runescape
I have a lvl 68 undead warlock on Drenden.
OMG how about u hav ne sonicxsepiroth????????/////
sshut up noob I TOLD U IM NOT GAY
o srry mayb i wil ask tekmo
Used to play WoW, got a undead priest to 70, was a waste of time IMO
Ruriki
Lvl 32 Paladin
Oh hai
70 human warlock, full S3
70 undead warlock
80 DK (thanks for breaking warlocks, blizz)
And then I quit.
I'd like to say that I could have learned to do something useful, like program on a basic level or knit blankets, but I've gotten some worthwhile dreams thanks to that game. I actually owe the ability to shapeshift while dreaming all to WoW, as it happened one night in a non lucid to get me started. /dance.
60 DK.
65 Shaman.
64 Warlock.
64 Warlock #2.
70 Rogue.
80 Paladin.
Then I quit. :c
Still playing a bit on and off... not much though, since I'm very bad at sticking to one character at high-end :P Right now I have:
80 DK (Full T7 geared for those who understand that:P), then I quit as they are just awfully boring to play in raids
72 Tauren druid
71 Undead Rogue
70 blood elf hunter
71 Gnome Mage
oops..
World of Warcraft summed up in 4 minutes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5jnk7VS-Ko
:parapet:
You can work on it tomorrow. ARRRRRRGGGGH!
80 Undead Rogue
Naxx 10 gear with like 5 or 6 pieces of 25 man gear, nothing special.
I play Warhammer now. I have a 28 Zealot, with 27 renown.
I have a ton of characters but my highest is a Human Rogue lvl 65 I think.
I like Everquest 2 best though- it seems to draw a more "mature" crowd and I like the game play better (though I prefer the "seamless" world of WoW).
I waste way too much time on those games though, so I've quit them for now and maybe for good.
I play DOMO every now and then. It's a nice game with a similar concept and it's free :D
I like Runescape too, but only as a paid member and I can't justify spending money on it and haven't played in months.
Im working on my mage atm...lvl 63
Venture Co. RPPVP server...no one rp's tho :(
Zomg grasshoppa your on the same server as me! Add Dooey lvl 80 Priest :D.

And those are just my big toons.. *cough*.
I haven't played in a month though, I took a break to get my life back on track because I played too much, now it seems to have gotten worse. Oh the irony.
Oh yes, the most important part. This was made for me when I posted over in their Off-Topic before getting permanently banned.
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w...er86553904.jpg
I just try to stay away form endgame guilds. That way I don't have to make commitments for a game. I got my own guild and I do my own thing with my buddies who have rolled on the same server. We have good times :P
I'm planning on playing on the free everquest server "Shards of Dalaya" as soon as I get my cd's back from my old home.
Besides that most of the endgame guilds is riddled with jerks, elitists and overall a general bunch of freaking whiners :P I have quit the game now, but boy oh boy, the times I spend on some of the top endgame guilds were horrible. One of my mates still play and raids everyday in a really serious endgame guild (I think 3 or 2 best on the server), and when he's on skype with me while chatting to the guild during raids... I mean rofl.. there's always whining going on and if someone makes just the slighest mistake EVERYONE freaks out. It's so terrible :(Quote:

I play on a Blizzard like private server a few hours a week. Does anyone use private servers?
Eh, I like Diablo better.
I've got a lvl 70 mage on Frostwhipser (EU).
I originally played not too long after it came out, lvled my mage to 60 and played some on alts. Then I quit. When BC came out I bought that and lvled to 70. Soon after I quit.
Then I bought WotLK, almost lvled my mage to 71, played some on alts, lvling a DK to 59 and a paladin to 30-something. Then I quit again.
I don't know why people find WoW so addicting...
I played the 14 day free trial, and it's a pretty good MMO I must say, but there are better MMOs. And I found Warcraft III more fun actually. Also, IMHO Diablo II ownz WoW by all means.
Had a 89 Necromancer there on closed bnet xD
I also played Maple Story. It is a pretty bad MMORPG, but it's charming in a way :D
And somehow I have an affection towards 2d sidescrollers :?
Anyways, I managed to make a lv60 Ice mage in a few months, but then it became too boring, and I quit.
80 Tauren Hunter
80 Tauren Shaman
48 Blood Elf Pally
all on Uther (US)
.... and a bunch of twenties. playing the game off and on for about 2 years, my hunter is one of the best geared on the server, and beats the hell out of most other hunters. cheers!
