It's not often you hear a piece of music that you just have to tell people about, that's so stirring that that it feels like every damn note played could be for you, but wow. The Cinematic Orchestra do that and more.
I first heard some of their stuff live a few months ago, but had no way to really find out who they were. By chance, the latest edition of a podcast I subscribe to was an hour long documentary on the making of their new album, after a few minutes of listening to the sample tracks they played on it, I was hooked.
The new album Ma Fleur was the soundtrack to an imaginary film they had the screenplay written for and every moment of it is simply breathtaking.
In case anyone is interested, their myspace is http://www.myspace.com/thecinematicorchestras While I know some of you hate that site, I urge you to just click and listen to the song 'Breathe', it's beautiful.
