      Exclamation Video Game Music

What are your favorite songs? Here's some of mine:
      Mortal Kombat Theme
      Duke Nukem Theme
      Contra
      Double Dragon
      Lords of Thunder
      F-Zero X "Endless Challenge"
      Rayman "Band Land"
      Rayman "Cave of Skops"
      Rayman "Dream Forest"
      Rayman "Picture City"
I love all of the original Rayman songs but those were the only ones I could find.

      - Lots of songs from the Final Fantasy series (favourite has to be the entire ending sequence from FF6, this, followed by this - this is the actual ending, so careful if you don't want it spoiled)
      - A few songs from Xenogears
      - A few songs from and Chrono Trigger
      - Hitman 2 :47 makes a decision" (heard here)
      - Megaman 3 intro theme song (always takes me to that special nostalgic place)

ugh... there's way too much vg music I like for met to mention here .

marty Odonnel and his score for Halo and Halo 2 are my personal favourites. that music is award worthy! steve Vai also did an appearance on a couple of Halo soundtrack pieces

A Toccata into Blood-Soaked Darkness from Castlevania: Curse of Darkness.

Also, Lost Painting from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and The Tragic Prince, also from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

All of these tracks are by Michiru Yamane. I like her music alot better than Halo's.

Dude, Rayman was the freaking awesome. I loved that game, the music made the game. I fully agree with you on Rayman.
Rayman 2 was okay, a little two easy and the music wasn't as good. (or lack there of)

Yeah i also noticed alot of that, especially Through the Fire and Flames, i'm sure there is something from Mario or what not in there. Dragonforce are pretty awesome though, they should consider doing game music.

I'll second that. I thought it was a bit kiddie for me but I played it all the way through anyway. It seems that most games are easier these days. I'm not sure if it's the games or just because I'm so awesome. I'll credit the games as being easier. Lord knows I'd never claim to have talent seeping from every pore; that would be wrong of me

Ah yes, Guilty Gear reminds me of Street fighter. They have some good music too ( Ryu's theme ) Especially.

Yes. But the music to Marvel Vs Capcom 2, part of the SF series I guess, has awful music. Sort of light jazzy stuff that doesn't match the action at all.

Anyway, yeah, I like some game music, some from FF8.... but a lot of games have forgettable music. Early FPSs such as Doom, Rise of the Triad, and Duke have good soundtracks.

I've posted the link somewhere before but http://www.mirsoft.info/ is a great place for game music downloads (free). Check out the one for Lotus 3.... I was fond of it as a kid.

Oh, and Super Mario Bros, World 1-1. Yep.

Jet Set Radio Future has the single best soundtrack ever.

Seriously check it out. All experimental like with some really strange exclusive Beastie Boys tracks for good measure.

      .
That's Marvel Vs Capcom. I'm talking about Street fighter in General.

And yes, MVC2 did have some pretty weird music.

      Shoji Meguro

easily my favorite vg music ever - he has a solid body of work ranging through the entire shin megami series - quite atmospheric and at times funky

      also,

the original Metroid has some of the most wonderful eerie music of all time - especially 'Kraid'

Aw, that's a really neat song. You just reminded me of it.

I'll have to get that now.
