      Exclamation Video Game Music

What are your favorite songs? Here's some of mine:
      Mortal Kombat Theme
      Duke Nukem Theme
      Contra
      Double Dragon
      Lords of Thunder
      F-Zero X "Endless Challenge"
      Rayman "Band Land"
      Rayman "Cave of Skops"
      Rayman "Dream Forest"
      Rayman "Picture City"
I love all of the original Rayman songs but those were the only ones I could find.

      - Lots of songs from the Final Fantasy series (favourite has to be the entire ending sequence from FF6, this, followed by this - this is the actual ending, so careful if you don't want it spoiled)
      - A few songs from Xenogears
      - A few songs from and Chrono Trigger
      - Hitman 2 :47 makes a decision" (heard here)
      - Megaman 3 intro theme song (always takes me to that special nostalgic place)

ugh... there's way too much vg music I like for met to mention here .

marty Odonnel and his score for Halo and Halo 2 are my personal favourites. that music is award worthy! steve Vai also did an appearance on a couple of Halo soundtrack pieces

A Toccata into Blood-Soaked Darkness from Castlevania: Curse of Darkness.

Also, Lost Painting from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and The Tragic Prince, also from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

All of these tracks are by Michiru Yamane. I like her music alot better than Halo's.

I loved "One Wing Angel" (Sephy fight tune) in FF7. Although the "Toccatta into Blood-soaked Darkness" is a better fight tune in my opinion.

F-Zero GX for Gamecube does have some amazing soundtracks. Mute City is a good one, infact they all are!

Tekken Five's good for it's music. And Rocky (based on the film), but then again it only has one soundtrack...

Hearts of Iron 2 music. Absolutely great. Especially Japan Overture. Most of the stuff was made by Andreas Waldetoft

If you haven't played this game, you really have to. It is the best strategy game ever.

I personally think that Final Fantasy as a series has some great tracks, i'm guilty of owning the Final Fantasy 7-12 official soundtracks on CD as well as other game soundtracks on cd, i just like them that much!

A few of the FFIX songs stick out in my mind.

Something about the intro theme in the original Silent Hill strikes a chord with me. It gives me goosebumps and a really warm feeling every time I hear it.

Amplitude actually had some really good songs. Its soundtrack sure blew away the songs in its predecessor, Frequency.

But, for an overall favorite game soundtrack, it'd have to be The Bard's Tale for me. There was a bunch of entertaining, genuinely funny songs in that game. I was hooked from the very first song:

"Beer, beer, beer tiddly beer, beer, beer..." I know all the words. Man, that's classic stuff

LINK: The Bard's Tale music. (listen to "Beer, beer, beer" and "The Tale of the Nuckelavee")

EDIT: Oh, and the original Doom's theme song. I love the tune.

Turok Music is the best for me. I cant get them out of my head to this day!

Do you remember the Oblivion levels from Turok2. I work in refineries, and the enviroment is very close to those levels, I sing to myself the melody once in a while.

Anyone now where I can get these songs on the net?
When I dream, theres always a
little girl playing in the dirt, that
turns to me and says "Why are
you here? .... Are you blind like
      me?"

      What I've found
      What I've known
Never shined to me what I've shown
      Never be
      Never free
I wish to see what might have been...
...So I talk to you unbeliever.

      Turok 2 (N64) music:

      http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console.../index-sz.html

Scroll down on that page. I'm not positive if those are the original soundtracks' music but, it's derived from the MIDI files in the original games (to my knowledge).

I loved the music in the original Command and Conquer, especially Act on Instinct and Airstrike (from the GDI end credits). That said, i loved everything about that game

You guys should google "8-bit music" or "nintendocore". They both use old nintendo 8-bit sounds for their music. Some are like techno or replaced with keyboards in rock.
