I've listened to those a couple times, pretty great I must say. Also www.pandora.com can help you find alot of good third generation ska. |

I found out that far too many people don't know what Ska is. What a shame. So I found this Podcast that plays alot of Ska all day. It's a really long list with all different types of Ska. Jamaican original Ska, English Two Tone Ska, American Ska & Ska punk/Punk ska, Latin Ska, Celtic Ska, even Turkish Ska, Eastern European/Gipsy Ska, RockSteady Ska, Reggae Ska...etc. |

I love Ska. Reel Big Fish is one of my favorite bands. Have you heard them? |

Starry starry night, paint your pallet blue and gray,
Look out on a summers day,
with eyes that know the darkness of my soul.

Check out the 2 links of the Ska podcasts I posted earlier. They're updated. + alot of newbies have joined since this topic vanished from the front page of this forum and they must be introduced to ska too. 8) |

Hey, I'm listening to the Ska Podcast you mentioned in your first post. Admittedly, I didn't think I'd like it at all, cause so far none of the ska I've heard has particularly moved me, but as you said there is actually quite a variety of ska subgenres. |
|
On Skaisyourfriend there are playlists that name the songs and artists. |

ah, I meant the Squidoo one, that's a shame. |
|
Wow, I had no idea there were that many sub-genres. I love Two-tone ska, but original ska is great too. My favorite ska band is probably The Slackers sence The Aquabats arn't really ska anymore. |
|
Ooh, I emailed the guy whose page the Squidoo podcast was on, and he gave me the track listings. They are here, in case anyone else was interested. |

The only ska I've ever really heard and liked is stuff from the later years of the Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra... I listen to Fantasia all the time. Other than that, though, I have to admit that I'm one of those people who misunderstands ska and lumps it all into one giant 'it all sounds the same...!' category. |
