I used to play it... but got disgruntled once I found things didn't improve with the move to the Source engine. Same repetitiveness, everyone always heading the same way, and dying the same way, and complaining about why they died. I prefer Day of Defeat personally... both back in the original mod and the Source version... they kick ass. I have yet to beat my personal record of 8 knifings in a row, or 100 kills to 12 deaths killing spree as a sniper!

DoD Is pretty sweet. Played it at my friends house today. Made me want it.

I really like how you can pick up grenades, even rifle grenades in DoD: Source... one of the best things I've done is throw back a guy's rifle-grenade right back at him, so to have it explode in his face. Basically, he shot a rifle grenade from a window onto a flag two guys were defending. They ran away as soon as the grenade landed, but I ran straight for the thing, picked it up quickly as I kept running, and then as I ran towards the window, I chucked the grenade and it went through perfectly, exploding as soon as it entered the room. It was the most awesome thing I have done (that and be 'crowned' the ace of spades after me acquiring most of my kills through spading people, but in that round I still didn't beat my previous 8 knifings in a row record). Ahh... if only I could play it without suffering from the most terrible lag... my current connection sucks too much for online gaming. I was ranked first on a server for a while too!

I used to play it with cheats two years ago. It was pretty fun. I was playing on a server in my city with a friend of mine, with people I knew of, though not friends. Me and my friend always cheated (aimbot, wallhack, speedhack) and pissed them off. Once a guy even threatened to beat me up in school, haha, but he didn't have the guts.

I stopped playing eventually, though, as I lost interest. CS is not partipiculary fun, due to the long waiting times and its numerous cheaters. Many are sneaky bitches using wallhack, pretending to play normal, which is the reason I got cheats and cheated the shit out of every server I went to.

CS: Source gets just as bad with the cheaters. One on round, I managed to sneak up on a guy, I empty most of my magazine at him at close range, and when he turns around, not even aiming directly at me, he gets a headshot with one bullet... subtle. Hell, I even saw my brother play on a server with someone with a speedhack... quite funny since the hacker sucked, and even got headshotted by my brother with the desert eagle.

He probably didn't use any aimbot then. Speedhacking and trying to aim manually is a pain in the ass.

Iv been playing for about 4.5 years? I play 2.0 but i started with 1.5, i used to Ring with Devistation (cal-i team)

And also lol, if your not good at the game you cant jugde if somone is cheating becuase they are too good....like you said "bluefinger" i get 1 deages all day long...(when i used to play) you would be suprised how much skill goes into spraying, you can think WTF i shot 30 shots at him??? Well, I'm pretty good at shooters (not bragging, but going by how I play on Day Of Defeat: Source, FEAR, etc), but there was a point I played regularly on CS: Source, and this happened when was I alright at it. I was fairly close to him, so I could spray at him knowing I could get him, and he wasn't even completely facing me (about 30 degrees off if you want an educated guess) when he shot once. That doesn't seem like luck or skill to me.

At least I got really good at DoD: Source... I am deadly with a sniper rifle or machine gun on that game... or with the stg44 or M1 garand... I got quite respected on a couple of servers (when I still played on a decent connection ).

No, i play on LAN all the time, the directions arnt 100% right.

There have been numorus times that i have been playing (even on LAN) and i see somone, but i want to humiliate them with a 1deage or just a single shot to the head instead of a spray, they shoot me dead and they wernt even facing me.

Its a CSS glitch, so basicly...if you see somone shoot them because they arnt always looking were it shows.
I dont mean a 180degree angle, im talking more like a 45-30.

Its understandable... I've have been accused of cheating (on my 100 kill sniping spree... I was on a roll on that day), and it sucks... all because I took advantage of the fact that you could shoot through wooden walls on the original DoD.... that and I got lucky with a few of the shots... it does suck.

But there's something else that pisses me off a lot. Team Killers... especially on games like Day Of Defeat, where team play is so essential in order to win the game. I usually assume the role of the leader when I play, giving people orders, or saying where all the snipers/machine gunners are positioned. Nothing OTT, or stupid, like singing down the mic. Of course, then there's the asswipes who have a problem with it. One game I had, I was repeatedly killed by this one guy in my team, all because I was giving orders and taking the initiative. I even defended myself, and told the admin that this guy was out of line. What happens? He gets banned and so do I! That royally pissed me off, since I was doing nothing wrong. So what did I do? I joined a server, got good and went up the ranks, got friendly with the admin, so the other times someone started being a jerk and tk'ed me for assuming the 'leader' role, I at least had it on good terms with the admin , so they got screwed over instead of me. Its good having respect in a game....

Have you ever done prizefight? Were you do a scrim, with 9 other random people, and you place a bet (paypal takes care of it) If you win you make money, if you loose you loose money)

I thought it would be cool untill i realized how retarded people are lol. (I stopped prizeifighting)

they just want to run around like morons and get killed lol. Iv tried to give orders plenty of times...theres always somone who is a douche bag and is like "F you, we dont have to listen to you!" And they make us loose...so i feel your pain.

People have the game CSS for like a month and they join prizfight and just make the team absolutily suck. I dont see how people dont realize they shouldnt do prizefight becuase they suck and they make people loose real money.

Its like the giant rock walls that you can climb at theme parks...Lol i constantily bitch becuase people will be so bad, and they will keep falling, and keep trying, and the line takes forever.
If that were me (which is isnt becuase im wicked fast at thoughs things lol) i would be thinking in my head "hmmm, i fucking suck? And im holding up the line, so ill do something that im better at...like a hot dog eating contest?"

But people dont realize and they just keep trying over and over again, next thing you know your in line 40minutes.

Nah, perfectly good example. I have never done prizefighting (though after hearing about your experience, I probably won't do so), but I do want to join a tournament some time, and just have a go to see how far I can get. If anything, if I got to play on an objective-based game like Day of Defeat: Source at a tournament, I'd say I could go pretty far (though I doubt I would win... I'm good... but not that good). That and a long time spent playing UT2004's instagib mode has pretty much sharpened my aiming considerably... aiming at a moving target whilst running/jumping as well, is a challenge. Plus it does help to have a laser mouse... the extra precision makes all the difference!

If you live on the east coast you should consiter coming to Lpane! Lol, i belive they have a UT tourny, and im sure they have plenty of DOD source teams there.


BTW, DOD:source is freaking amazing, i love the game even though im not too good at it.

I like the maps, WAY more realistic then CSS. (45 and 180degree angles, straight halls and random boxs lol, so unrealisitic)

I was pretty good at the old version, i actually quit CS 1.6 for a few months when i found out about DOD.

Alas... my location has thwarted me once more! I hardly see any tournaments happen within the UK. Hell, I even wanted to go to E3 before it died a painful death... never went and never will... *sniff*

Oh well... and yeah, DoD:S maps tend to be of better quality than CS:S, but then again, its a matter of opinion. You still suffer from grenade spam in DoD, especially since grenades actually can kill you if you have full health, but I don't care. If someone doesn't prime the grenade before throwing it, you can always throw it back. Hell, its how I managed to stay alive as a machine-gunner in one spot... kept throwing back all the rifle grenades that were shot into the room. *sigh* if only I had more time and a better connection to enjoy it once again...

Hey, as long as we are talking about Counter Strike, anyone wanna come play Source with me on the .BAD. server? It is jam-packed full of admins who are constantly on the watch for cheaters and people who are just plain jerks. Good server so long as you don't piss any clan members off.

Actually I don't even know if the .BAD. server exists anymore. I can't find it in recently played or in normal search. If it doesn't exist anymore, there isn't much of a point in playing because of the cheaters. Plus, the people on that server were great too :'(
