While Researching it a little bit, It turns out its a sport. Its almost like Free Running if anyone knows what that is too. Explaining it in words is hard to do, but this video shows what it is more or less about:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0oY85AGFrg

I think it looks interesting and would be fun to learn, so im trying to learn it to a point, theres just nowhere good where I live to practice it (at least compared to the places shown in that video).

Yeah, Parkour is freerunning. It's cool isn't it?! I mean it's just climbing trees and stuff like we did as kids but taken to another level - wicked! Have you seen that french film with it, Borough 13 I think?

the reason i said it was like free running is because on most forums that discuss it, they get mad when you call it free running, and have a seperate section for it...

But yeah, I guess the guy that started it was David Belle, theres a couple videos of him doing it on youtube.

Aye, they did a documentary ages ago on UK TV called 'Jump London'

The principles behind it are, getting from A-B as quickly as possible and as fluidly as possible. Tricks such as wallrunning, backflips and vaults arn't actually considered PK until you can incorperate them into a run and they flow really nicely.

Just out of interest, has anyone played Prince of Persia Sands of Time -> Throne of Darkness?

      ^^^ spot on

same as b-boying, to be honest
it's all about style and finesse

The power moves are great 'n all, but they're nothing without the style

but yeah, Jump London (and it's sequal, Jump Britain) were ok, but they didn't really capture what Parkour is about.

This guy I used to go to highschool with has a fuckin' incredible video of him doing this kinda stuff on his myspace page. It's one of, if not the best I've seen, so far.

I'll find it after work today and post it.

Prince of Persia (The 2 Thrones) was an awesome, I beat that and the first one, but skipped the 2nd....

To be honest, I didn't think many people at all here would be interested in this or think it was cool, but I see that I was wrong. Im going to make a video of me doing it in like a week or 2, and im probably going to hurt myself, but i'll post it up anyway if anyone wants to see it.

Holy shit...OUCH @ the guy missing the gap jump.

Here's the guy I was talking about. (I'm sure you can find the vid, but I dunno if it's the same guy, younger, or someone different.) Anyway, there is a part around 1:00 - 2:00 where the camera just does all this weird shit that really takes away from the vid (I think) but then he gets into the running, afterward. I just love his style. Mofo's got some moves.

Wow that geezer is a bloody super ninja!!! Unbelievable stuff there...the bit where the camera does funny stuff is crap yeah. I loved when he was being chased by the dog lol, and when he scaled that wall! There's just too many good bits. It's Russian I think, either that or some Eastern European country.

Anyone seen Tony Jaa in Ong-Bak? That bloke is nuts too, awesome film.

I think Tony Jaa is wanting to be the new Jet Li, just like Jet Li was the new Jackie chan...

Lol @ Jess. Yeah, I like the dog part, too.
There's so much dope shit that he does in that video. It's crazy.

And yeah, Tony Jaa is badass. I've got a clip of him doing the making of Ong Bak, and it shows him doing this wall run where he runs diagonally up the wall and over some like 10 foot shelf without touching it with his hands. Insane.
