I tell people that I like Days of Our Lives, and I always get the same response-- "You like soap operas?!!!" NO, I don't like "soap operaS"! I only like ONE. Days is of course a show where every character is played by a model, the acting isn't always just that good, and the plot is the slowest one in the history of television. However, one of the most fascinating things in nature is psycho women plotting to screw up each other's lives while trying to pass themselves off as innocent, upstanding citizens. It is a major part of what that show is about, and the female psycho characters are awesome, in a fiction kind of way. The show also does a world class job of really making you want to find out what happens on the next show. Also, the silliness of the plot and how it is filmed with models while making it about never ending horrific tragedy everywhere gives it a pretty strong element of surrealism. On top of that, they do stuff like make the police commissioner have the name "Commissioner Gordon," like on Batman. Very bizarre. It is a real trip.
However, as I said, it has the slowest plot in T.V. history. That is why I keep walking away from the show and getting back into it later. The show cries wolf constantly. So for you fans who read this, how fed up are you with the wolf crying about Mimi confessing that she knows Sean is the father of Claire (information that would put an end to a whole world of problems for a lot of people but that would make Sean divorce Mimi)? Are you fed up with how the show keeps making it look like Sami is about to confess that she blackmailed Lexi into lying to Carrie about the impossibility of her having non-birth-defected children with Austin (so that Sami could marry Austin instead of her sister)? After all of these months, they keep making it look like those confessions WILL HAPPEN, GUARANTEED, on the next show. Then they pull some B.S. and put it off. I am so sick of that junk that I think I am going to take another hiatus from the preposterous show. Does anybody give a rat's ass about any of this?
