Favorite Board Game?

So, what is it? Mine happens to a tie between, Sorry and Scrabble.

Monopoly... kicks ass. Scrabble is good but it always ends up being a fight about "That is not a word!" type of thing... and the dictionary doesn't quiet them... Monopoly on the other hand you get accused of cheating and padding your pocket if you are the banker.... I DON'T CHEAT and blah... I still like Monopoly best...

Old favorite: Tornado Rex. I don't remember why, or how to play the game... but when you're five, damn that game is the best thing ever. Clue is good. A new one is Cranium; that's pretty fun. But by far: Balderdash (it doesn't quite count as a board game, but it owns everything at all times.) Monopoly always turned into Pirate Monopoly. When you've got seven kids in the house, it gets rough.

I love Scrabble, but nobody will ever play with me. Chess would have to be right up there as well, although I'm way out of practice.

Chess. It's been a few years since I played though, and even when I did play, my opponents were either too good or not good enough. Never had a fair game.

Backgammon, by far! Man, more people need to play that! I also love Chess, and hate checkers. As for more main-stream, I've always liked the game of Life. And does anyone remember the game "Dizzy Dizzy Dinosaur"? It was more fun to play with the wind-up dinosaur than actually play the game, though.

You start at 9:00 pm and you tell yourself you're having fun and then you look at the clock and it's 3 in the fucking morning and you feel like shit. Pardon my french. Umm... Scrabble is pretty sissy. I used to play it but I realised that men don't win games by being the best "speller." Psh... There should be a board game where like.. if you roll a 3 or below, you have to chop off a limb and eat it. THAT WOULD BE A MANLY GAME!

Wow. Haven't played an actual board game for a while. #1- Scrabble (because everyone else I know seems to have a very limited vocabulary) Then comes Chess (always get my butt whupped but I still loved it) Monopoly (have the Star Wars version and we'd all seriously argue over who got the star destroyer, etc, and the winner became galactic ruler, complete with their own evil emperor laugh to rub it in. Much more fun than the origninal version if you're a SW geek, like I)

What about Risk? That's another game I grew up on and there's a special place in my heart for it. And Settlers (of Catan) is another awesome game! It's kind of long but good to play with a group of people. You'll like it.

I grew up on Trouble, cause its the only game my grandma had and we stayed at her house a lot. When I was like ten years old I was hooked on Poke'mon Sorry. Don't ask. >_>

These board games start children off at a very young age, they don't even realise what is happening, how they are being trained to be imperialist dogs. Wow @ Gawain....I can't believe you actually said Balderdash. I came into this thread thinking NO ONE is going to have said Balderdash. I'm not even a big fan of board games, but that's one of the most fun games I've ever played. Haha. I mean, the definitions that people come up with! And I say it definitely counts as a board game because, even though the majority of the game focuses on the definition cards, you still have to race each other around the board to win. Oh, man. Good times. In fact, it's been years since I played it, so I think I might go pick one up, if I can find it. That game is so fun to play when you're just sitting around drinking and/or smoking with your friends. lmfao.

I gotta jump on the chesswagon too. I love chess. I'm only about a 6.5-7 out of 10, in the skill department, but I love a good game.
